Description
A commission from featuring Duster and White Owl in a boudoir-style glamour pic.No, I have no idea what would result in this situation other than possibly mind control by a supervillain who's a big fan of classic Playboy photography.
UPDATEβTechnical Notes: To emulate the look of the bunny mag I went a lot further with a particular postwork trick than I usually do. I added a "glow" like photographers sometimes get by smearing a little Vaseline on the camera lens. To replicate that look digitally I copied the image to a new layer on top of the main one. I then jacked up the contrast while jacking down the brightness by the same amount until the image looks very washed out. Then the saturation gets dialed way down until it's mostly black and white. Next step is to add a Gaussian blur. The layer then gets set to Screen mode. Usually I dial the "glow" layer way down to about 25 to 50 percent, but for this shot it's up much higher, around 75% or so. Only thing is that layer can wash out some of the image's colours so it can be tricky finding a balance.

That's nice, like a cheeky pin-up poster. Especially Duster's look of sort-of innocence...White Owl looks slightly unsure as to what is happning but has been told by Duster just to roll with it. I suspect alcohol may have been involved a few hours ago.

In addition to your fine work in adding the "glow" having the background out of focus is a great touch that a lot of digital artists over look. That literally separates the main subject from the frame drawing our eyes to it. Something that cell phone photographers could use more. (Some better phones have a portrait mode to do that)
Before the filter manufactures made "soft focus" filters the photographers would stretch nylon or silk hose over the lens.
You captured the look of the 8 x 10 Deardorf camera used for the centerfolds very well.

When Playperson magazine Β decided to reverse their ill-advised decision to stop publishing nude photographs the editors made a bold gambit. In the magazine's 60 year history many foldouts had become celebrities and many celebs had posed posed au natural for pictorials, but none had been famous when posing for the official Centerfold. The Editors asked two of the top superheroines to pose for a special dual gatefold to bring back the nudes in a big way. Duster was flattered while White Owl has somewhat hesitant at first but warmed to the concept knowing that she would be in good company!
Both of the lovely ladies donated their fees to the charity of her choice. Duster gave to the local "no kill" animal rescue shelter. White Owl applied her fee to an organization that took underprivileged youths to see the Cincinnati Reds play baseball at Great American Ball Park.Β

Yes, my dear, you do indeed. At the annual Mid-Summer Midnight Dream party pajamas are the norm, while other social gatherings proper attire is expected. Even in the grotto the policy is "clothing optional."
