CoyoteIcefield Parkway, Alberta
FINALLY saw a coyote! there was 2 black bears along the roadside feasting on some greenery and up on the rocky riverbank pop up this lovely coyote. It was only around for like 30 seconds.

Nice shot.
Where are ya from? I live in Alberta and see coyotes all the time, people view them as pests but I like them as long as they keep away from my dogs. They're cute little hunters. There's been times where coyotes have actually gotten on the highways in Calgary, and a moose downtown. LOL I wish you coulda seen that one!

If your around Lac Des Arcs before you go there is a strip of land between the lake and the Bow river... nasty to try and travel throught with all the dogwoods and willows but the coyote's like it there, I've come across a couple dens in there but never at the right time of year
If you wait for a train to pass by they'll often give up there location by yip'n and yowl'n at it

There was a time, and I remember it because of the place I was... 15 of them there were, and I couldn't help it because of what I had just dug up with my shovel......hahaha, just kidding! lol

My first coyote sighting:
When I was 17 I was driving my dad and my sister to Bakersfield, Calif. There was a new freeway that had just opened, it was 8 lanes, and was empty of cars. I could see something way up ahead in the road. As I got closer, I realized it was a coyote, and I slowed down and tried to go around it.
It moved over into the lane I was in, and I moved over again. The coyote moved over. It ended up with me stopping the car completely while the coyote paced back and forth in front of the car, laughing at me. I turned to my dad and said, "What do I do?" He told me to honk the horn.
That just made the coyote laugh even more. I finally decided to just move slowly forward, and either that crazy coyote would move out of my way or I'd run it over. My sister had a doctor's appointment to get to!
The coyote moved over enough for me to drive around it, it was on my side of the car and as I passed, I got a real good look at him. He looked up at me and winked, then turned away and ambled off.
I got a real good lesson that day as to why the Native Americans call him the Trickster!

i cant take full credit for seeing him on the bank first off.. my mom was driving and i was looking through my lens at the bears and my mom said "UP TOP".. lol so i looked and BOOM BOOM.. got 6 shots before he ran back down.... lol and 4 of the shots are of him running away..
