Lol, Animals tend to have that amazing ability to always be warmer than us no matter how freezing cold it is outside or in the water.

I love how curious he looks. Awesome framing, great to see a shot of them. I don't see photographs of otters very often around here

Well done Dani. Always a bonus to get your subject to look straight at you while snapping a shot

thanx, most of my shots are of him looking at me which is nice.. but mainly it was because the snow i walked through/was standing in had a layer of ice and i was kinda loud so he knew i was there and was wondering what was going on!

Brilliant photo, the focus is great and he is very sweet. Was he bothered by your presence at all?

Dani-Lefrancois In reply to gee231205 [2012-04-15 15:32:37 +0000 UTC]

thanx. i wouldnt say bothered but he knew i was there and was keeping an eye on me. i would only move when he wasnt looking. He went about his business but always keeping me in sights. I didnt stay too long after i got my shots.

That's cool. I was wondering how they would have reacted to having people around.

He had 4 ice holes to dive into if he was uncomfortable.

he was in the far hole when i first approached, then he went and fished. Didnt come up for like 30 minutes it seemed.. so i started to walk away and he came up in the closer hole. I then snuck around this higher land so he couldnt see me and then inched my way closer when he was scratching himself or turned the other way. Id stop when hed look at me.. so hilarious! This lil guy had 4 holes to choose from so i didnt want him to go tooo far. I spent a good hour with him. was loads of fun! I admit i did call him names under my breath a couple times.. hahaha
