Description Yeeeeessssss, ANOTHER squirrel photo! Maybe that should be my New Year's resolution - to NOT take any more squirrel pictures!

*EDIT - It just occurred to me that the title "Sunday Squirrel" sounds like a scary backwoods recipe. . . I'll glady take suggestions on a new title!!

Hey, squirrels are better than that rabbit! This is a really nice one! Very sharp! Did you use a tripod?

DanidaeSkye In reply to JRd1st [2007-12-30 22:26:21 +0000 UTC]

I can't believe you said that about Simon!

Thank you very much! No, I didn't have a tripod - I had to be quick since he took off just after I snapped this one. He had been digging up his, or someone else's goodies and eating them - you can see the dirt on his little nose.

JRd1st In reply to DanidaeSkye [2007-12-30 22:36:45 +0000 UTC]

I thought that might be a tick on his nose. And tripod or not, that pic looks like you used a tripod. You had to be using a tele, right? If not, then forget about the tripod comment.

It's a 75-300mm, not a HUGE lens

The lens I REALLY want is over $1300, I'd almost HAVE to use a tripod or join the gym to lug it around.

JRd1st In reply to DanidaeSkye [2007-12-30 23:02:26 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't even bother with a lens that big. I'd never want to use it.

When I was into film, I had an Olympus OM2N and my tele was a Vivitar Series 10 70-210 f3.5 Macro Zoom. That sucker was so big and heavy! It was before they had compact teles. I never wanted to bring it with me.

I still have all me film stuff in a pelican case. It hasn't been touched for at least 12 years. lol

DanidaeSkye In reply to JRd1st [2007-12-30 23:33:51 +0000 UTC]

The biggest film lens I ever had was a Vivitar - I think it was only 200mm. . . ?? Actually there's a pic of it (sort of) with me in my gallery. I LOVED that lens! I use my 75-300 on my DSLR almost exclusively. I absolutely love it.

My parents are fixing up my old room to be a nice "guest room" and they found some old negatives and test strips from my high school photo class. I'm almost excited to see if I can scan the negatives and play with the pictures! I was hoping that my schoolwork had some good photography info in it, but it's mostly about the film and developing pictures!! Alotta good THAT does me! *sigh*
