It's the benefit of having thousands of years of history packed into a relatively small island.Β Take a walk around London for example and you can find buildings from 1000 years old to modern day glass monstrosities and everything in between. It's not the most practical city for getting around quite like the big grid cities you guys have, but it's vibrant and always interesting. Of course the same can be said of the whole country too. I for example live in Hemel Hempstead, a new town that developed just after world war two, however travel just a mile down the road and you find the village of Apsley built in the 19th century. A few miles further out and you find Berkhamsted, a town that can trace it's history back toΒ 970AD.
