"8" - 8th Air Force, "303 BG" - 303rd Bomb Group, "427 BS" - 427th Bomb Squadron.  Am I right?  Tried to remember the classification when I was in the National Guard.  Always wanted one of these puppies!

I'd say that's Dodge WC 52. They have one in the Poznan Armament Museum as well, and they still sometimes use it to relocate light equipment (e.g. artillery) on the outdoor exhibition.

Thanks for the help, you got it spot on. I googled the stated vehicle and found images of this very truck, so confirmed.

More a Beep  (Big Jeep) than a 4X4 1/4 ton truck.

The 4 in the yellow circle is the bridge limit of a fully loaded vehicle: that is 4 tons.  A fully loaded vehicle of this type must not cross a bridge rated at less than 4 tons.

A jeep was much lighter
