Neat-looking parachutes! Are they supposed to look like some kind of flag?

Not as such! The colours red, white and blue are of course our national colours here in the UK, because the colours are that of the Union Flag, the national flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. However the parachutes are just in the colours of the flag and not the actual pattern.
