Description I've been reading about poster and propaganda art during the times and felt like giving it a try ... with a Red Europe.

Europe's Future? - Socialism!

(I'm aware that my Russian could be better, in fact I already spotted a spelling mistake, I think, and ask to excuse this. )

it dosen't really have to be in Russian, Soviet Russia was a Bastardization of communism, anyways.

Well, it was a Soviet Russian poster I had in mind when doing this.

But I could try other languages as well, why not. Communism is international after all.

My Russian isn't as good as it could be, but it is supposed to say "Future [of] Europe?" and "Socialism!".

They would have wiped out Bin-Laden and his crew more than twenty years ago.

Very much so. I talked with Russians (former CCCP citizens) who were directly involved in the stabilization mission in Afghanistan and they told me more than once that they were not there to "conquer" the country as often claimed in modern media, but to do something against the clans and fundamentalists.

coldangel1 In reply to DanielaLaverne [2008-10-07 21:57:51 +0000 UTC]

It's more sinister than that. The CIA went into Afghanistan BEFORE the Russians - they began training the Mujahideen in preparation for an arraged war of attrittion that they designed to be like Russia's Vietnam. They then made the leader of Afghanistan INVITE the Russians to come and help him with the Mujahideen, and say that he and his people were ready to become part of the glorious Soviet Union. On Christmas Day the Russian Army rolled in expecting to be greeted with triumphant fanfare, but it had all been a scam to drag them into a hairball which would prove to be the last financial straw for the motherland.

It's frightening how easily the CIA shapes history.

The part of becoming part of the USSR is new to me, but which way ever they got invited, the Soviets got dragged into an already running civil war to bring stabilization and peace and ended up getting shot at with CIA-send weaponry.

And yes, the CIA can be pretty scary ... Afghanistan ... Chile ... >_>

Yep, a nice thought.

Currently it may not be visible, but when all who believe in it stand together, it might be possible - why not.
