I was at school when I did it, so don't mind of my classmates moving on the top of the screen

In that case, is there a youtube that you could show me how to shade the stripes? I keep trying to use a q-tip or tissue and I know that a lot of times I don't need to.

A good point where to start is the choice of the pencil. For this kind of works I'm very comfortable with the 2B and 3B grades. But it's up to you.
All I do is find a photo reference, do a very light sketch, and then I start do all those little lines. It's all about this. I reproduce the verse and the length of the fur and the work is done. When I have to do darker zones (like the stripes of the ocelot) I usually pick up a softer pencil (4B or 5B) and I do the same work as before, but pressing down more. I continue do little lines over and over the zone I need to be darker until I get the shade I need. Doing this like I do make that part look like fur (unfortunately, it's a thing that you can see only on the original work, with the scan it loses this feature).
My way to shade technique only applies when you're representing fur. If you have to do something different, well, I discourage you to do this
I use only the pencil in these works, nothing more. Only a little bit the rubber to clean the paper if it gets dirty.
For a beginner is usually recommended to not use other instruments than the pencil. It helps to improve more.
