I kind of leaned towards techier stuff like programming for a period of time (which I found ultimately less satisfying).

Oh, I see. Well, after delving into such art made of colours, curves, shapes and detail, I agree that programming would feel emptier, or rather dull. Obviously there are lots of programmer who would disagree, but haha, such is my opinion.
