Wow... love it!! wonder how you managed to get the colours to look kind of wavy... and the droplet to look so perfect!! is it all photomanipulated.. or just a macro? Yesterday I was practicing with mine and noticed some awesome effects I could get... exactly with as many colours as you have in there...still tons to practice!! it was my very first attempt at something like this.. well not the distorted kind of wavy colours, but I had a very colourful paper and a droplet... to play with!

What you see is what I got. No photomanipulations. There are a few tricks I learned over time. The position of the flash and the foil change the whole outcome. And you can use more than one flash. A lot of trial and error.

Is it kitchen foil you used? Awesome to know it's only photography, wow, now that has wow me for a while... but how did you get the colours to look like that? amazing... now you've got a new fan... I don't use flash yet on my photos... haven't got to that step yet, but will be probably my next addition, as my new camera doesn't have it built-in, I have a very old Olympus flash that works with my new camera, but it's one of those hot shoes, so I guess next investment would have to be flash...

I use reflecting gift wrap and colored construction paper. Combine those with a flash and you get the weirdest results.

Ohh wow thanks so much for the tip!! is this what you mean with reflective paper? pzychonoir.deviantart.com/art/… that was the second macro session for me ever... someone bought that for my son.. and I quite liked the potential of the vibrant reflecting colours in it! have to load that macro where they do something a bit weird and droplets look not like droplets but something different yet cool!
