Winter Solstice!!!

I celebrated winter solstice as it officially (scientifically) arrived at precisely 8:59 PM MST here in Logan, UT - my ski resort town!!

The grass is green as it was covered by snow for a long time, but this snow has largely melted under a moderate heat dome caused by a massive tropical system. True winter weather will be back and we are due for a white Christmas! Even the heat dome cannot delete all of our snow!! This is UTAH!! The Rocky Mountains deliver on the promise of winter snow year after year, despite some early winter and late winter warming events! Those simply do not last up here! When it's "hot", it's in the 40's these days; not enough to destroy the snowpack!
