sorry for the double comments
but i have an idea about a making them jump
vibrate with a sound effector
and then let them
fall in a domino move just if you plane to animate

danielkrull In reply to ouidart [2010-02-25 16:49:02 +0000 UTC]

I don't plane to animate... sorry
But it's a good idea

very a nice i like
the depth of field
effect my advice
is try to add a little roundness to the edges to help them reflecting very well

I found you on twitter so I just clicked on it and thought wow that's a nice shot. Not seeing that it was a 3d render XD...

bonotje In reply to SlightlyChaotic [2010-02-24 17:43:51 +0000 UTC]

Ow sorry...It looks very much like a photograph, so I guess that's a good thing XD. Did you make it in photoshop???

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SlightlyChaotic In reply to bonotje [2010-02-24 17:56:58 +0000 UTC]

No, I didn't make it at all. XD ~danielkrull did.

The image is a render of a 3D scene. I'm not sure what program the artist uses, but the idea is the same for all of them: You create a digital 3D object using software such as Autodesk Maya or Cinema 4D. The creation, depending on the method used, is not unlike building a house, or sometimes it is more similar to sculpting a statue out of clay or stone; except that it is entirely done on the computer. The program then takes a "snapshot" of the image, called a render, and that is what you see here.

It's actually the exact same thing as what most cartoons are made of these days - the computer generated films such as Up or Ice Age, and even most of the latest blockbuster, Avatar. Except, of course, this picture is much simpler in design and execution.

But, it is still very easy to mistake them for photographs, when they are done well. Here's a couple others that, if you didn't know better, you would think they were photographed:

But it is also possible to create cool, more abstract images:

O wait sorry again didn't know you are not the maker. I didn't look at the names...
But thanks for the explanation...
