Description I have several ideas for books I want to write, & so I'll be uploading the manuscript covers I create for each book I plan on writing. This is for a book I plan on writing with the working title of "The Salem Enchantress". Should a future agent want to see my manuscript for this story, this'll be the cover I will use!

This story is a blend of various world legends & folklore with real history, & thus creates a unique world of its own. It's a memoir about an immortal enchantress from Italy named Sophia who travels to Salem, Massachusetts to try & discreetly fix various problems going around, but along the way unravels a conspiracy involving dark sorcery & ultimately learns the value of being true to herself, regardless of what society may think. As mentioned before, this story will incorporate various things: the Salem Witch Trials, Befana the Christmas enchantress (Sophia is her granddaughter), the Arthurian legend, the Epic of Gilgamesh, Macbeth, The Odyssey Arabian folklore, the lore of gargoyles, & even a mention of Mel Brooks's 2,000 Year Old Man! This story will feature all of that, with a plotline heavily inspired by Kiki's Delivery Service, The Crucible, & some new elements of my own.

This cover I made features lead character Sophia & her best friend Eliot the were-cat (a creature that can shapeshift into a man & a cat, with ancient Egyptian origins) after carving a jack-o'-lantern for their new will-o'-wisp friend to live in. In her hands, she is carrying her diamond wand, a basket of potions, & by her broom rests outside her hut's door.

I haven't written this story yet, but I have a plan for how it's going to go down. But in the meantime, I did illustrate an earlier sneak peak of this story back when I did my first Inktober challenge. Since then, I feel I've improved my style for the better. You can see that here:  www.deviantart.com/daniellaux4…

Anyway, I hope that this gives you guys a good idea of what to expect for the future, & I hope you guys like this manuscript cover. I'll certainly do more of these soon, so keep an eye out for them!
