I don't know man. I really don't want to sound rude, but I think the quality of your work has gone down a tad. Maybe due to too many comissions? Maybe because it's not the stuff YOU want to do? I just looked up some of your older work and that was really amazing. To me this doesn't even really look like mulan that much. I love your work, I don't know, I just felt like telling you this. Please don't get this wrong. I've seen you nail it, so I know you can do it

I'm currently trying to finish several pieces before going back to school, so maybe i am rushing a tad. Normally i put a lot of time into each piece but Jim-11 wants his done very quickly. Just curious though, what's your opinion on the art for Shears for years?

Shears for years is very great. I'm sorry I could give more feedback on each individual piece of yours, but the habbit of lazyness is a bitch. So yeah, I like the shears series for the details and the facial expressions. Your drawing of hair is constantly superb.
My favorite pieces of you quality-wise would be: playing with light in hair, princess jasmine, the "Powerless" Series, princess vivi, the barbershop pics, and my favorite is probably angels with tattoos.
If you only count haircutting ones my favorite is Powerless.

I noticed this Jim guy seems to have been a priority for a major long time now, most of your submissions are "Commission for Jim-11" and it's cool if he's paying or whatever but it's honestly kinda annoying because you have become more of a commissioner than an artist. Although I must admit, some of his ideas are pretty cool. However, I agree your artwork leaves me disappointed sometimes. I feel you could have detailed a bit better based on past artwork, or you drew something a way you could have done differently, etc. There are a few I think you did spot-on, then others give me sort of a "meh" feeling. Quality, Daniel, not quantity.

He asks for commission by the 10s! I admit whenever i get a note from him i am both happy cuz thats money but also i know that it will eat up a lot of my time. In the next few weeks since commissions are closed ill try to give more attention to the shears for years story. Also if the art seems rushed its cuz i got this recent set of commissions from him bout a week and a half ago and i wanted to finish them all b4 i go back up to school on sunday.

I definitely get it. Money is money, we all need it. Just don't bite off more than you can chew, artists are great on their own time. The more commissions you get, the more your quality goes down because as you said, you have to meet a certain deadline. But people tend to forget, deviants have their own lives aside from the art. I'm still on your side, and I am excited to see your future art, but don't lose sight of the quality in the art itself, even if the art is just a bunch of girls getting their hair cut off.
