Uhh, first of all, thank you for writing!
I'm definitely honoured to receive such a critique.
Yeah, people in the scene bugged me a bit too. In a way, I like them because they give a sense of scale, but what I would like even more is to have some of the local populace there instead of the obvious backpackers. That's in an ideal scene in my mind that might be worthy of National Geographic
I do have some other shots without people, but alas, not from this location and not with such a light. Wish I could spend some weeks there to really get immersed in the conditions and capture the best of it (there seems to always be some interesting thing happening with the clouds over there...)
Now you make me want to return there

Well, a friend and me took one month vacations, got the tickets, took the backpacks, and went on into a new continent without anything there pre-booked
We did have a general plan on where to go and what to see, but it changed daily based on new circumstances and information we got there... it was fun, at times scary, but ultimately quite an experience.
And it sure made my parents worry a lot
e.g. one crazy episode involved taking a 26-hour bus from Chile to Peru, which after an hour of driving turned off road and into the desert in the middle of the night, with passengers all thinking we're about to get robbed/kidnapped (passengers being two of us, two Irish guys, and about 10-15 local Peruvians).
We later realized that the reason for that was that the bus company had no license so the driver was avoiding police patrols on the main roads
This caused the bus to go through the cold mountains overnight. Half the windows could not be closed, ice was forming on the rest of them, and we were freezing and trying to stay awake.
The mountain road was narrow, unlit, and had a cliff on one side all the time.
We later realized another thing - the bus company lost the license because one of their buses fell off the cliff a few weeks ago and everyone died.
One coldest night of my life (and two bus searches by the military!?) later - I woke up on Lake Titicaca to watch the warmest sunrise in my life. Never been so happy to be alive lol

An outstanding place and a fantastic photowork! I like the view perspective and the light and colors are really great. The background mist makes the main subject to stand out.

Hahah, yeah, me too... but the light was crappy for the first part of the day, and when I finally got this nice light to witness, the people were crawling all over the city and could not be avoided. Motivation to come again
