According to the comments, it's probably meant for head on assaults against other subs, I can imagine the front guns using flachette ammo since that is a weapon that travels well in water. Since I'm not an expert in water travel and I don't know why it's shaped like that. But from what I've looked up about how fish are shaped I just think that this submarine is relatively more for speed rather than stealth which is probably not practical, but it still suits a visual appearance of a military vehicle.

Looks like a lot of drag, hence a lot of flow noise, which is fatal in submarine combat.
