Description This is the first in I think what will become a series of fairies with broken wings...

Done with 2H mechanical pencil, 3B drawing pencil and 6B lead stick on 10"x14" vellum bristol. The red is done in prismacolour pencil crayon (in "crimson").

This is simply gorgeous. It reminds me of my high school years when I used to draw stuff like that on my book covers...back when they issued everyone their own books. I loved that red pen of mine. thanks for the nostalgia.

Thank you, I'm so glad you like it!! Heh heh, so many people started their art carreers by doodling on notebooks in high school I finally had this realization in my first year of business school that I spent most of my classes drawing rather than taking notes, so maybe I'm in the wrong school

After reading the comment you left me, I decided to take a look at your stuff... and I am even more honored by your kind words after seeing the beautiful art you create. It seems we both have a penchant for the darker/depressing side of faeries.

Yeah, I sort of like exploring the darker and emotinal side of fairies... They're suck delicate creatures, it almost seems to go together for me sometimes. And because fairies are always (or at least usually) depicted as such happy creatures, I like the juxtaposition of using fairies in darker images

Awww, thank you so much!!! That's so nice of you to say! I'm so glad that you like my work I'll be doing some more drawings for sure when school starts, it gves me something to do during breaks and when I have boring lecture classes

Oooooohhhhhhh..... Your shading is BRILLIANT! The setting of the drawing is great. The mushroom with the blades of grass really adds more feeling to the piece. My most favorite part are the wings. I love how you outlined part of the wings with blood. The redness stands out of the B&W.
