Description This is an Old meme by Darkjack that I wanted to do, but for a lot of reasons put it off.

But anyway... in no order with the Exception of the first one being my favorite.

1 Half-life 2
The best first person shooter game that I've ever played to this day. It wasn't a graphically amazing game when I played it Though that's on me when I decided to play it, but the feel, mood, story, music, puzzles and uncut game play really sold this game for me and has to this day made me a fan of Valve. The only thing that interupts the game are the loading freeze screens which if you have a fast enough computer can be minimal. And that's quite frankly the best part of the game. It never zips you to the next stage as if by magic and never tells you how exactly you got to the next stage, the entire game is the stage. The Characters, the plot, the G-man brings you into this world and makes it so believably, you are the one freeman. I've played through this game quite frankly more times than I should have if this was any other regular fps game.

Valve, if ever you read this, and feel you can use my skills. I will be down in a heart beat.

2 Out of This world
I already talked about this one in my influence meme, so you should already know. fav.me/d2x2xdc

3 EarthWorm Jim
Funny, crazy, and well designed. I enjoyed this game not only for it's look but also for it's difficulty. and it's funny conclusion. You can tell that the people involved in this game gave it their best and hit a home run of fun. Favorite level "Snot a problem". Fast pace, intensely fun, and the musical beat, Plus I really liked the colors for this stage, green and rendered well. Flying Cows... need I say more.

4 Strider
Oh, this game. I freak'n loved this game. All the stages were designed so damn well for it's day and age. The flying ship stage wasn't just a bunch of designed flat platforms with being nothing more than just a patterns to jump to and from and just being labeled a ship stage. No, this was a well thought out ship with a front and a back, that you traveled from start to finish all the way to it's core boss and to the rear when the ship was beginning to fall apart around you. Finally trying to catch a ride on the pirate leader's flying escape vehicle. Easily killing him in the process and then flying down to the jungles below and dealing with that area next. Everything set up a cinematic scene that if played well gave you an awesome moment of glory. Like the moment running down a mountain in order to make a well landed jump to the other side of a small open canyon type jump. All the while the other side full of enemies blasting at you as you run down the mountain, all the more reason to keep going and excuting the jump with the speed needed for it to work. Fun.

5 Xenogears see influence meme fav.me/d2x2xdc

6 Rollcage
Funny thing is, that I never actually bought this game when I was a kid and was not really able to buy what I felt like at the time that I wanted it. But man the demo for this game was intense, played it on the Playstation magazine, Back in the day, they had these things called magazines and some actually had demo CDs with playable demos, The best in my opinion was those from the Playstation magazine. Anyway, the vehicles in the game were impossible to flip because your car was operational on either sides. I remember being able to go up to speeds of over 800 miles per hour or 1000 though I can't remember for sure. speeds of regular 400 mph to 800 at times. With weapons to fire. and when you made jumps, you flew. It's one of the games that I'm so regretful not being able to buy when I wanted it.

7 Sonic and Knuckles
The best game in the series in my opinion. Well thought out epic music, and an awesome final battle that you get to play if all the emeralds were collected at the end, which just felt so exciting. Chasing after Robotnik in super sonic mode in space, as the count down for this mode began you knew it was on, and you had to get it done within only 50 seconds max if you were unskilled enough not to actually collect more rings while on the way. All the while dodging Meteors and missiles. Epic.

8 TeamFortress2
Another awesome game from Valve as always. This game has so much character to it and style, Love the artwork for this game and that painted style. I love the look and sound of this game. So much so that I wish that they'd make a 3D animated series from it with all the voice actors playing their parts. And man are the voice actors histarically great in this game. They make this game work on levels beyond, I even still hear new lines from time to time and laugh my ass off to what I just heard.

Scout " lets go, lets go!" "Let's go!" " Will you just lets go!".

Still waiting on meet the pyro animated trailer sketch. Can you believe it? The game is out for how many years now? and I'm still waiting on them to make a not really needed anymore trailer for the pyro. They're that good.

Keep in mind that there is a ton of content story wise online that can be read and enjoyed, but I still wish so badly for that animated series. Keep dreaming I guess.

Also Hats hats hats. So many damn hats you'll be tempted to actually buy them. which is the reason why this game is being given away for free. The hats sell. Heck I even saw an outfit of the soldier wearing a plane... a plane.

There's even a Brony mod going around with actual pony skins... weird but fun.

Again Valve, call me.

9 Street fighter 3 third strike yo!
Oh this game. I love and hate this game. Well no, not hate, just hate how low tier I am against anyone that's actually a pro at this game. Daigo style good and not even near there as well good but still able to woop me at this game. I can handle bad or average players, but those top players... never gonna happen. But I do have my moments. Lesean, looking at you, Hugo slam!

The style is there of course, it's a 2D sprite game which I love. and it's parrying system was something that gave me a fighting chance. If I got use to how someone played their game on STF3, I would be able to predict their moves sometimes. Sometimes I'd be able to throw my brother off and grab and slam his ass three times in a row with out a punch in between. eh but that's just me remembering moments from playing the game. Which maybe is what makes this game so good. Moment #37 You know what I mean just by saying that, and if you don't, youtube it.

10 Metal Slug!
One of the most ell designed stages for a game that I ever saw. I just loved how the maps would gradually change from one area to another. From a jungle start to a crashed ship for a final boss character. The game advanced onto other vehicles that you can hop into and dominate with for a little while as long as they lasted, but that Tank will always be the best, it's pretty amazing how much character that tank has, from it reacting to getting hit, to jumping up into the air and landing back down, yes you can actually jump using a tank. Love the bosses and their designs. It's just such a win on concepts. It will always be one of my fun experiences that I played at the arcades while waiting for my brothers to finish up their magic the gather games. Never was good at that game.

With any luck Grip will make it to the PS4. I tried Looking for Rollcage 1 or 2 in the ps store, but apparently neither game was popular enough to make it there.

I have Rollcage Stage II, and it is one of the 2 games that tie as my favourite ever. There is a spiritual successor Rollcage Stage II called Grip currently in development, and it looks amazing so far.

Haha awesome, I share a few of those on my fav list. Sonic 3 and Knuckles, best platformer in the history of time, no doubt.
I love third strike too, but I got into SSF4 much more.

Wish I could say the same, but I stopped after 3. I have played SF4 a bit here and there but couldn't pull myself into it. I'll just be sticking with new FPS games like Bioschock Infinite, HL3, Black Mesa, etc as they come out.

The original SF4 put off so many people, let me tell you that SSF4:AE is a great, balanced (for the most part), very entertaining fighting game. I'm not that much into FPS myself.

Yeah I've heard about it to. I wonder when it's going to be released. I have this feeling that it will be released along with Half-life 2 episode 3. Though I don't know since it is a fan made game. But it looks pretty good. Valve might do something with it like they did with the orange box.

I'd be down for another bundle pack like that.

Earthworm Jim was classic, the sequel was pretty good too, it's a shame they didn't carry on after the Nintendo 64 disaster. I would love another worm side scroller

It's crazy how much better Japan and Korea are at gaming. In Korea they're basically kicking our asses in the GSL and dominating. I almost can't watch sometimes. But I do get my hopes up that someday a foreigner will win it. But starcraft is an entirely different game all together.

yeah they are crazy at this kind of apm games, is already cultural thing i think, a korean born must play starcraft at 5yo !

I think everyone won't be able to avoid saying "Rocket Launcher" in the way it's said in the game after reading it, I now I couldn't
Though I've heard of most of them I've only played Earthworm Jim and Metal Slug

I've had an unfortunate story with Half Life: I wanted to play the first one to know the story right but the pc I had at the time wasn't strong enough to support it(let alone half life 2),short time after that I got a new nvidia video board but it turns out it wasn't compatible with Half Life for some reason gave this weird graphic glitches that all structures appeared transparent Quite some time after I decided to give it a new chance since I have a newer Pc and video board altogether, but now it doesn't install due to OS incompatibilities
Maybe HL2 it's still playable though, I haven't tried it...do you know if you miss to much of the story by start playing in the sequel?

danimation2001 In reply to MatiasSoto [2012-06-12 13:56:19 +0000 UTC]

hehe, I never played the original, so no you're not missing too much. If you want to have fun watching someone else play the original, check out "Freeman's mind" on youtube. Hilariously funny, it's played from the point of view from an annoyed scientist being late for work and than having shit go down all the while commenting on what everyone in the game is saying around him perfectly in sync.

You honestly don't need to play the first one. but if you do have it I would just type in to google what you need in order to play it.

I can understand Xenogears and rollcage not being played, but Earthworm jim? and Sonic? You owe it to yourself to play these games. or at the least emulate if you can't find them on playstation network or Xbox live. I'm pretty sure that they're available on them for download though.
