No.1 is definatley better. I think the face is good in it because you can see her cheekbone more which makes her face look rounder, hence the cuteness

I liek the first one more..somehow the lips look better...the eyes hower look a bit emtpy and liveless I dunno how to explain...but they'll probably look better when colored...but good job man!

Mmm, I'd go with 1 too. I like the nose more, and in 2 the eyes doesn't feel right somehow

Number one looks more charming. And hey, who ever said she had to be anatomically correct? Most cartoon characters rarely are.
But, no matter what, both of them are still mucho awesome.

The face looks like she's really surprised? Anyways, wow man you're really improving in pencils in such a short time.

Go with 1 !!!
The lil lines in her cowl, and the lil additional lines in the folds and creases of the outfit really add something more believeable to her.
I do however like the lips from #2 better, but it could also be just from the way the linework is emphasized differently around there.
The nose is great,
I think you're ready to rock it with some inks and colours man!

Cool pose and foreshortening D! For the eyes I would suggest to make her look to her top left, as if peering over at something. That will give it a bit more punch and personality. Are you coloring this one up?

good idea, It'll also connect with the viewer as well if she's looking that way. I'm definitely going to color this, so I'll have her looking that way in the final version, thanks for the helpful advice.

I like the first one, but I would take the line detail on the cowl from the second, the one around the face and put it on the first.

So much redrawing must make this tedious. Does it make you lose that spark you first had for the drawing or do you just want to finnish it now and be done with it?
At any raite I go with number one.

Well I would be telling the truth if I said that this was fun going back and forth, but it'sjust something that you have to do in order to improve. Bare it, you don't have to enjoy it, but it'll be worth it a few years down the line when I can handle it and have fun with it.
Right now I'm burning to improve no matter how hard it is.

the differences are definately subtle. i think i like the lips in 2 more, but she certainly looks more crazy in the first(because of the eyes), and i think that's more important. nice choice of subject by the way. i've always been fond of her.

Either face works for me--I'm more concerned about the feet; they feel like 2D cutouts rather than foreshortened 3D objects. I think if you think of them as wedges, and remember that the feet have a flat base to them, you'll figure it out quick.

Go for the second one, she looks like she's either listening to something (like orders) or thinking on something, rather than just being spaced out and...there. I just prefer the second face, but whatever, this is too cute.

honestly , i cant tell any major differnece between the two other than
no.2 lower half lineworks seems a bit lighter which seems to give off a sense of distance

Well, if you havn't decided yet, I'm going to throw in my own two sense. I would, as you suggested, go with the one on the left. Harley has that blank look that I would associate with any crazed individual looney enought to hang out with the Joker. Also, the left hand is leagues better in the first one. As for perspective, I think the head might be a tad too big for the body, though I could be wrong. If at all possible, find a ref. Looks good though, I saw more of it over at Poo.

scruffykitty [2005-07-19 14:41:37 +0000 UTC]
I like the one on the left the best, maybe if you made the hands a smidge smaller it would work with the perspective better, but it's not really a noticiable problem for me unless I stare at the picture for a while. But the first one definately has the look of the original sketch.
PS: Harley love!

I would most likely go with the first one.
The lips are more pronounced and the
the eye seems to be strring into space
which make her seem more child like.
The hand in the first Picture seems to
be the right size in the first picture
compared to the second one which is
smaller. So go with the first one

I love number two, cause I really don't see the beauty of glossy, huge lips. The eyes are highly exaggerated in two, too, but I think you could still pull off "Cute" with more anatomical proportions. I'm a sucker for the natural look, I guess.
