You know what I love about 80s movies?
They were FUN.
Nowadays, it seems to be a crime for a movie to have fun. Everything has to de dark and depressing "because the source material said so". Batman movies have to be dark because the comic said so, Snow White movies have to be dark because the original fairy tale said so, Spider-Man movies has to be dark because the comic said so, a movie about Abraham Lincoln hunting vampires has to be dark just because the book where the idea originally came from said so.
You know what I say?
FUCK THE SOURCE MATERIAL
Back in the 80s, we didn't give a shit about the source material. We just wanted to have fun. Movies were cheesy, goofy, funny, lovable, and FUN. They were adventures, epic tales full of despicable villains and kindhearted heroes. You could just sit back, relax, and have fun.
The days of "Back to the Future", "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" and "Flash Gordon" are long gone, replaced with dark scary movies and an unhealthy obsession with the source material.
I really wish people today learned to stop caring so damn much about the original source material.

I agree completely with what you have said. I love the 80s for exactly the same reason. Sometimes I wish I could just go back in time and truly live the 80s. All of these new darker adaptations of comics/folk tales & movie remakes have not once ever gotten me running to the theatre.

We recognize the characters instantaneously (of course, being a hardcore BTTF fan helps, but really)
by their facial expression and how their traits were drawn and colored. Excellent! Father and son at best, bravo for this drawing that captures their relationship with the audience! I love it!

Thank you! I remember how hard it was to draw George. I was so used to drawing Marty in that simplistic-cartoon style, that even George looked too much like Marty too! And one time I drew Doc in that style too, which did not go so well. Thank you for your kind words!
