That very moment Vernon Dursley found the Hogwarts letter and treated it as if it was a bomb ready to explode, I think it set the tone for how proud he was of being a Muggle and his absolute shame of having a wizard in the family.
But man, I had no idea bloody Richard Griffiths passed away only a week ago! Heard nothing on the news or anything. He always had that commanding, distinctive voice which served him well in movies like Harry Potter, and had no issue either with playing comedic roles such as Naked Gun. He will be missed for sure.
You've done well capturing his absolute shock and horror of receiving the letter, and it does serve as a good tribute to his memory. Well done, and hope to see more.
