A series of shots I took and printed as 5x15" prints for a wall display.I'm a HUGE fan of obnoxious cropping - ie cropping the hell out of a photo to make it obnoxiously long.
The flamingo, seal, and bunny were taken at Sea World in San Diego, (the bunny was the only actual wild one, we saw him scampering through the park) while the rest were taken at the San Diego Zoo.
Couldn't figure out how to present them, since I didn't want to submit them individually and wanted to show their presentation set up.

Don't know if you were into 35mm photographer alot, but i use to run up my developing bills when i switched from standard to panoramic landscapes............ use to be an extra 1.25per shot at Walgreens.... loved the look so much, i couldn't help but shoot whole rolls like that... close to $40 a roll to develop. ....obnoxious price but still worth the crop!

This is fantastic! I too am a huge fan of unusual and extreme cropping; it breaks the norm and forces you to see things in a different way. I think every photo in this display is absolutely phenomenal, and are each intriguing for their own unique reasons. The spider and bunny are my favorite, probably because of the intense green light behind the spider, and the glorious cropping of the bunny. The way you've arranged the photos is also really cool, because (for me at least) the spider is the first thing my eyes are drawn to, and then each animal's pose and direction carries me down the left side and up the right, it's a really captivating arrangement. You've got a great eye, Dan!

i'm not too sure about the inner shadow thing, but otherwise it's brilliant!

totally obnoxious cropping. especially that flamingo or whateverthehell that thing is.
all the eyes are kinda creepy.

Yeah, the flamingo was the hardest one, I couldn't crop it any better, but I had to include it. It's meant to be kind of abstract.

Looks cool. Expensive to print? I avoid dA sometimes as it's expensive for me (shipping is intense).

I use another site to order prints for Senior Portraits that I do, since they offer like wallet sized photos and rounded corners on the photos, and stuff like that, just threw in these prints while I was at it
