"I HAVE SEEN THE KING DO TERRIBLE THINGS", SAID THE DYING JESTER. I don't remember all of my paintings titles off hand, but this is one of the few that I will never forget. This is 48" in diameter, oil on canvas, pulled over a wooden table top. This is a very intriguing piece... the position of the jester is iconistic in it's presentation of that simple theme. I guess intriguing because it's beautifully and eerily recognizable. And the orange cones really lend themselves well to being the tassels of his jester's hat. Besides that, this actually reminds me of a certain french entertainer and magician that I've seen at Scarborough Fair.
They both give a look of complete offense or disgust at nature or at the audience that is so entertained by immaturity.
