Commissioned by: . The man behind Operation Habanero but this time, it's Shizune's Day Off. ^_^

The following story is set in alternate timeline (or Infinite Tsukuyomi). Certain characters may or may not interact with other characters whom, at the time, would not have been alive in normal continuity. Please bare that in mind as you go through this story, and enjoy.

Less than half an hour had passed by the time Shizune had set everything up for her plan. Granted it would’ve taken even less time for anyone else, but Shizune was not one to cut corners. She’d gone the extra mile to make sure that this idea of hers went as planned, taking all needed precautions, or fear of losing her chance with Asuma. By the time she’d returned to the Dango Shop, Shizune was happy to see that the couple was still in the same spot as she’d left them. Patiently waiting, Shizune’s luck finally came a mere few minutes later, when she heard Asuma tell Kurenai that he needed to go to the washroom, and probably going to have smoke right afterwards. Knowing that this would mean Kurenai would be waiting alone for quite some time, Shizune decided that it was time to act. She approached Kurenai, calling her out and greeting her at the same time. Kurenai greeted her back, asking Shizune if there was anything wrong. Shizune resumed her stance and explained to Kurenai that Lady Tsunade had requested her presence for a mission: a secret mission. Intrigued by this, Kurenai thanked Shizune and was about to head out to the Hokage’s office, but Shizune quickly told her that the Hokage wished for Kurenai to meet her in a secret location, close to the outskirts of the village. Shizune explained that this was to not compromise the importance of this secret mission, and that she would lead Kurenai to Tsunade’s location. Understanding the situation, Kurenai was about to follow Shizune, but stopped short at remembering Asuma. She had to tell him that she’d be leaving. But Shizune was quick to say that the mission couldn’t wait, and assured Kurenai that she’d come back to tell Asuma himself for her. Kurenai smiled, thanking her friend, and then proceeded to follow Shizune to this rendezvous with the Hokage.
