Sam had recovered enough to begin to register the conversation happening around him. “Why do women have to speak in code.” Sam grumbled, carefully crawling towards the light. Kindle had her coat on its side, allowing Sam to peak his head out from the deep pit he had been trapped in. From the underside of the table he could see Kindle’s stomach and chest from under the table. He was in her lap, her hands nearby clutching her coat tightly. Across from her a pair of legs that stretched down to the ground attached to a pair of red and white shoes. In comparison to Kindle, whose legs dangled well above the ground, Hanna’ feet were almost double the size of Kindle’s.

Sam laughed, he’d never seen Kindle in relation to another normal sized person before, Kindle was enormous to Sam, a proper giant, next to Hanna however, she almost looked small. “Ha….she’s a shrimp…wow.” Sam looked form one set of legs to another as the conversation concerning continued back and forth. It was about then Sam realized the translucent table top gave him a blurry but working view of both women as they talked.

Of course, this also meant he could be visible to them both as well.

Sam’s first impression of Hanna from this angle, was just how animated she could be, the taller woman would rotate between keeping still, and flamboyantly talking with her hands in huge wide sweeping motions. Next of course were her hands themselves. Her fingers easily wrapped around the mug she held, with both hands around it she nearly made the mug disappear. Sam had seen Kindle hold similar mugs; her hands in comparison were miniscule. Sam was careful not to stray out from the shelter of Kindle’s coat pocket. She didn’t know he was here, it would be easy for her to shift her weight or the coat and the fall to the ground from this height would be like plummeting off a 13 story building.

Hanna was doing a good job keeping Kindle either laughing, or blushing. It made Sam smile to see Kindle smile. She had an infectious smile and a soft breathy laugh that only came out when she was trying really hard not to laugh. But Kindle’s mood boiled over as the conversation went forward, until the same tears that Sam has forced out earlier made their return, Sam’s smile faded with Kindle’s.

“I’m sorry…I know you don’t need me to get all blubbery. It’s just…I don’t know what to do; I know he’s hurting…he’s a mess but he won’t let me in. I try, but it comes across as controlling or something because he just gets angry.” Kindle’s voice was a mess, a high pitched blubbering mess. She had pulled her hands up and was talking far more animated than she had before. “I don’t know Hanna…I don’t know if I can just keep watching him make terrible decisions.

Hanna thought for a moment, her expression as serious as Kindle had ever seen it. “Is it like, drugs or something?”

Kindle shrugged, “Maybe…I don’t know…it’s so hard to explain.” Kindle lied, it was actually very easy to explain, she was just terrified to try.

“I’m sorry…I know you don’t need me to get all blubbery. It’s just…I don’t know what to do; I know he’s hurting…he’s a mess but he won’t let me in. I try, but it comes across as controlling or something because he just gets angry.” Kindle’s voice was a mess, a high pitched blubbering mess. She had pulled her hands up and was talking far more animated than she had before. “I don’t know Hanna…I don’t know if I can just keep watching him make terrible decisions.

Hanna thought for a moment, her expression as serious as Kindle had ever seen it. “Is it like, drugs or something?”

Kindle shrugged, “Maybe…I don’t know…it’s so hard to explain.” Kindle lied, it was actually very easy to explain, she was just terrified to try.
