ForI had so much fun with this.
First deviation in a while I can confidently say that i won't scrap, and probably my personal best Saiyuki fanart. The request was a picture of Sanzo themed to the song 'Godless' by the Dandy Warhols. (lyrics below) And this is what popped into my head... I hope it's satisfactory!And if anyone has any glass reflection/rain tips, I'd love to hear them.

This is wonderful- Sanzo's face looks so realistic, like his eyes are boring right into the viewer. Love that he's sitting at the window while it's raining- classic for this character.

I have to say, that this is one of the best Saiyuki fanart's I have seen this far. Really. The art of Kazuya Minekura is amazing, but it seems that you havent been worried of that and just done this with your own style. I think that is just a great thing. I just mean, that people usually try too hard to "copy" the style of the original artist and then the pic comes out weard (Usually, not always).
But in this pic Sanzo looks like himself and the attitude is still there, eventhough the drawing style is different (and for me it doesn't matter, whether this is semi-realism, or not ).
Guess I don't have nothing to complain about. The character is awesome and so is the pic. In my opinion the colouring, the shading, the reflection etc. are perfect.
(And he is so damn hot... as always *sigh* )

SANZO. You know, from Miyavi, I didn't expect to find my fave anime here, so, I'm really happy. ^^ and my fave char too.
I love the look - super Sanzo-ish, although there are two things that are off. 1st and least important, the hair is a tad bit too dark, but then again I guess it gives him a slightly darkish look, so it doesnt bother me in the least

This reminds me of the two scenes in Requiem where Sanzo is sitting on the window sill.
It's such a natural place for him to be, I dunno why he looks so good like that but he does.
