a few months back i had the idea to put together some images/pinups of marvel characters and have kevin molen color them with the intention of showing them around this years nycc trying to get cover work...specifically cover work from marvel. anyway, i roughed out a few that i was interested in doing before changing my mind about the whole thing for a bunch of reasons. this (as well as the iron man pic i posted) was one of the images i did a rough sketch for. theyreΒ 'less' than what i was hoping to do originally but, i suppose it beats having it stay unfinished.Related content

i love your spiderman in this drawing, this really didnt need the hulk. I would love to see you just draw another spiderman picture with out the hulk in it, maybe after doing other spiderman costumes or spiderman/spiderwomen

What were the reasons? Just sayin', about Marvel, I've heard things...

mainly cause i was really busy this summer with work and it didn't make sense to disrupt that when i had already had more than i can handle. plus, the feedback I've gotten from marvel editors in the past is that i need to tighten up for cover work.
but anyway, what things have you heard? i will still be showing up with my portfolio, trying to get marvel to take a look...so if you know something that might help me or something i should avoid, let me know..

Is that Zombie Hulk? Now that's terrifying! I wonder if Spider Man will ever turn into zombie. I mean, he has the super immune system, right? Speaking of Spider Man, the work on you did for his web is nicely done.

His face is a little, but at the same time he doesn't completly look it but there is a slight leinil yu vibe to the face at the same time. Β Now Spidey.... I think you drew him the same way I would ( better obviously, Β for now muahaha ) Β Yep... lookin good.

lol thanks! i like yu's hulk quite a bit but that didn't even occur to me. in the layout, his head resembled more of the traditional sal buscema style hulk but i think the sensation of sketching round forms kind of took over and that influenced his look. his eyes and mouth (along with the muscular forms) are all variations of circle shapes. also i think maybe the lines around the muzzle and lack of pupils contribute towards him looking more monster like.
