Description
This is a piece I recently finished for an art class assignment. Every month, we complete three sketchbook prompts, which are open to interpretation. One of the prompts I chose was "Light and Dark".

I mainly wanted to experiment with intense lighting - something I love but haven't had many chances to try out - but eventually I came up with a concept that also played with lightness and darkness as personality traits. Upon first glance, the figure seems to be an angel, with a glowing halo and feathered wings. But if you look closer, he has a devil tail, sharp nails, pointed ears, and small horns hidden in his hair. His skin is also red, though that's hard to see in the lighting.

My favorite parts of this piece are the colors, hand anatomy, and perspective.
