I found the Steel weapons to be the best looking weapons among the original ingame weapons. Tho i am currently using a Mod Sword named Steel RegentΒ static1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/β¦

It matches the ingame weapons pretty damn well. The carvings, the form
and the color is pretty amazing and I feel back in the game again... kinda.
I usually play khajiit, argonian or dunmer, so nothing really that human.
I am curious how those will turn out and what else you are going to
build.

The colours are not yet done :3 It's just the basic materials. It's still to be latexed, painted and wrapped with leather.Β
When it comes to race, I'm pretty much the same. Ther human and most mer-races are so boring x3
I'm aiming for the entire steel series. And when that's done, I'll probably do iron and then work myself up through the different styles.

The steel and iron armors kinda have the nicest looks,
mostly because they are simple and fit well into the
environment. I look forward for the whole collection.
Well, you got a lot of racism, so it's always good to be
on a side, which is oppressed, so you aren't in a bad
position of morality.

Are you using the Sleeping mat foam for this one, or are you using a different type of foam???

DanoGambler In reply to Ginsu85 [2014-03-03 09:51:48 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much. It's a combination of sleeping mat (as an economical solution), cellsize cellplast for the areas that are going to take the most bashing and damage, like axeheads and swordblades, a firm cellplast for areas that needs to be robust and sturdy and also solid cast latex. Β

And then there's the dork, me, that wants to make full on metal versions of these. It is agreed though

I'm only an apprentice blacksmith and costs of metals are far to expensive to practice on my own.

Looks wicked! I always liked how the ebony weapons looked too, and Orcish. Glass was my all time favorite, so I was sad to see them missing from Skyrim.Β
Gosh I wish I could just sit and watch you make these. Do you destroy fewer brushes when you airbrush the latex?

Glass missing from skyrim? They had the glass series, didn't they? Also a fan of the ebony family x3...
I've been filming the entire process^^ Also when I made the dagger and a katana! Just emptied my camera! When airbrushing, I won't need any brushes^^ Unless for the finnishing drybrushings, but that's pure acryllic so that can be washed :3Β

I might be wrong about that. I don't think I got to max level so I may have missed it, but I thought they replaced it with something else.
Ah excellent! Can't wait to watch that!

Ah, but I think these are modded versions of Elven weapons. This is the version in the game by default (and much prettier, I think! Still my fav!)

Bu that's the glass greatsword. It was on the page I showed you :3 The colours are slightly different when lying on the ground.Β

Looking great so far! What material are you using? Looks like a kind of foam you are carving?

DanoGambler In reply to CopperCentipede [2014-01-23 21:28:01 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! It's a cellplast, quite similar to what's used for sleeping mats.

Ah okay. I think that's called EVA foam over here. The decorative detail you've carved in looks amazing!

Thanks alot!^^ I was using a burner for the marks, but that only works on very fine-celled foam.
