I haven't seen many of Space Pirate Captain Harlock's adventures, but the Japanese anime designs have always stuck with me; Maetel, Tochiro, Miime, the pirate ship Arcadia, and Harlock.Blue pencil, number 2 pencil, fine-tipped Sharpie, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Thank you for the kudos, and for the correction! It's been years since I've seen Galaxy Express or the traditionally animated Harlock, so that's my excuse. The images stuck in my head, but the names did not, I guess. I think I'll be making some DVD purchases soon, to get reacquainted! I love the 2013 CG Captain Harlock movie (now on Netflix), unfortunately Maetel is not part of that.

I heard of a Galaxy Express movie, but it was real movie and not CG movie... And still a very uncertain project, I guess...

That could be cool! I saw the live action Yamato movie. Liked it, but it led me to the CG Harlock, which I preferred. I hear a live action Hollywood version of Yamato is in the planning stages. While I find the news exciting, it's also worrisome... I'd hate to see them ignore its Japanese roots.

Also: Just rewatched Galaxy Express 999. I remember it being melancholy, but WOW! Tragic stuff, well told. Food for thought, as the best anime is.
