For a while now I've been meaning to share more about the process on how we create the Ghostbusters comic for IDW. Above you can see the thumbnails, pencils and final colors by the talented

Step 1: After reading 's script, I begin to research locations, props and other visuals. I strive to make the backgrounds, landmarks and other props as accurate as possible. With all that info I sketch out small pages, focusing on what is most important to showcase in each panel. Leaving room for dialog, as well as using elements in the panel to direct the eyes. The locations in panels 1, 3 and 4 were inspired by the three popularly recognized crash site's in New Mexico.

Step 2: I print out the panels and clean them up. I like to keep the characters on model as much as possible, so I strive for that in every issue. I also add labels and other elements to help with the coloring process.

Step 3: Luis creates a chupacabra of color!
