Description Prometheus was my favorite character of the Ancient Greek mythology (here's wikipedia article - [link] ) when I was about 10 or 12. I was fond of greek myths, read loads of literature about them. He was definitely the hero, most beloved by me then.

It's an entry to the 's contest "Hero".

Watercolour monotype.

There's something truly magical here, the technique you use suits this perfectly. The myth of Prometheus is one of my favourites too

Thank you!
I also think that ancient myths fit this technique well!

I'm never sure whether I like the intricately painted parts or the swirling texture best in these - but here I think my favourite bit must be the colour palette

This is truly inspiring - I hope my ancient Greek project turns out as awesome as this

Very beautiful, Dapplehack. You have another lovely image here I am very impressed with the design and implementation of loose and tight areas and the shaping. Very beautiful colour, as well. I love this image. It speaks to me a great deal. This is one I would like to hang on my wall.

This is the best compliment an artist could get from the other artist...

np, I mean it. You are one of the few people who makes work I would love to hang on my wall as pieces of art, not just illustrations. Your work is different and inspiring. I have seen little else like it and it is new and fresh. This painting method you use is very unique. Everytime I look at them I see something new and different within the shapes you create. This then gives the piece a whole new face to consider.

Thank you very much!
Actually, that's what draws me to this method - the freedom of the watchers' own imagination to find more things in the picture.

I love it when people say that John Howe says the same thing, so does Stephanie Puimun law, and Brian Froud and Alan Lee. I have adopted a similar practice, myself. But your work is really wonderful. It's one of those few techniques that truly captivates me and makes me wonder. Thank you, it instills a sense of awe in me, which is something I believe Romantic Art must do.

Your work is so inspiring and unique! Very orignal, and this one in particular is very powerful because it's vibrant and has so much movement! It's like a sea god or something, great work!

This movement usually turns out by itself - that's why I like this tachnique so much..

Exactly! Every medium seems to have a strong spot, in this case, it is movement
