This picture, despite its faults and being unfinished, is still one of my personal favorites.
Done in Bic ball point pen.
What castle would be complete without a dragon gaurd? Well, actually it is more of an outpost than a castle. This is one of my few attempts at a serious background. I orginally started this piece to work on several of my weaknesses which are: 1. I can't draw people well, 2. a background, 3. multiple subjects, and 4. buildings.
Some people may remeber me talking about a picture that I have been working on for a lond time and never finished, well, this is it.

Yup, most of my dragons have a very dinosaurian influence.

well, I once tryed my hand at such a concept too, but mine was a compleet bust. YOu however managed to come up with a rather nice pic here, most of all, I enjoy the texture on the dragon, and the very natural way in wich he is positioned in flight. The head detaill is also very nice. However, the rider looks a bit stiff and distorted, and dose not seem to be "in flight" as the dragon is. I would much rather have seen him standing on a stationary hors then a flying dragon, and on top of that, that saddle dose not look stable at all. I would have imagined that to make it stable, another belt would need to go behind his wings and encircle his belly like in a horse saddle ( yea, even if it means pearcing the wing web )... but of course, that's just my opinion, so please excuse me if I am beying a bit offensive here as it's not my intenion.
ANyways, if you would be so kaind as to stop by my page and give me your opinion on my own drawings and dragons, and mayhaps give me some constructive criticism, I would be most happy. ( oh, and just in case you want to see my vertion of a dragon in mead air, you can ceck out my "cerebral Hypoxia " picture... just don't laugh at how bad it is, ok? ).

Yes I do realize the rider looks, well bad. I fear I am still quite bad at drawing humans and this is an older picture as well. Same thing with the saddle, but I think I have a better idea of it now.

The dragon looks great, the detail is fantastic. The knight I think though is a bit silly looking, his pose especially. I think his right fist is backwards...
