It's definitely eye-catching, but doesn't at all look like Jake Chambers.
Jake has blond hair and blue eyes. While this rendering is a handsome boy, Jake Chambers is supposed to be a beautiful kid.

Very good drawing, loved the style and the details.
Maybe I missed something in the book, as I read they clearly said Jake is blond, however a lot of the art I had seen here and there show a dark haired Jake.

personally, i've never read the book so based so i cant compare this to anything XD but just solely on the artwork i can say that its both eye-catching and interesting
