Description
This is one of the pictures my mother took at the rugby game on the 14th of June 2008, All Blacks vs England.

And I was privileged to be part of the pre-match entertainment: two medieval armies 50 strong, wearing "sable with a fern argent" and "argent, a cross and rose gules" i.e. black with a silver fern for the Kiwis, and white with a red cross and rose for the English.

I was in the centre of the English side, I have a big white kite-shaped shield, and a pointy silver helm with a brass baronial circlet around it (This is borrowed because they thought my big black full-face helm looked silly ) I die gloriously in the second lot of fighting.

The black side is now forming a wedge and charging the English center. Note the dead person lying right in the way, with shield held protectively over body: That's me.
That box thing in front is one of the pyrotechnics boxes, by the way. They were blowing them up with fireworks every so often (Why we had to stay well away from the 10-metre lines!)
