Pairing: Link/Colin

Colin had always been quiet and timid.

He couldn’t wrestle like Talo.

He couldn’t hurl insults like Malo.

And he couldn’t boss people around like Beth.

No one really took the time to notice him.

Except Link.

Link always had a smile and a warms touch for him, no matter how others taunted and jeered.

The older boy sought him out whenever the chance arose…

Like it had a few weeks before the shadows came.

[…]

He could vividly remember the sight of Link laying in the grass, eyes closed and drifting as Epona grazed nearby.

Colin was tucked safely at his side, watching the clouds and trying to get as close as he could without crawling into his elder’s skin.

Slowly and carefully, he sat up.

The insects droned.

Epona whickered.

Colin pressed his lips to Link’s.

…And Link’s soft mouth curved into a smile.

[…]

“…I can feel it!” Colin cries out.

And he can, oh, he can, because beneath a veil of shadows and twilight, the one he shouldn’t love is pressing his muzzle comfortingly to his side.

[…]

And when Colin sees the brilliant blue eyes shining amidst green fabric, he decides that it isn’t such a bad thing to be disliked for his quietness, as long as he has the one person with whom he needs no words.
