Description Jason Addler had never been one to listen to rumours. Especially about the one that had always been milling around; the reason so many people disappeared from this little town. He had been told ever since he could remember but he had never believed. Not even from a young age.  He was too intelligent for the likes of these people, he had a power no one else possessed.

The only thing he did believed in was the things he could see. The things he could hear. The things he could touch, that he could feel. Though he also tricked his followers into thinking he also believed in the God. The almighty being. He would protect him from anything that may happen. But there was always that lingering fear in the back of his mind. That unconscious voice whispering to his mind, telling him not to go out after dark. Telling him to always keep his cross around his neck. Always keep a vial of Holy Water near him.

Beware the vampires, my son.

Only, there were no vampires, were there? No one had ever really seen them and there was really no evidence. Sure, there had been one or two bodies turned up over the years with their blood drained… but they were too messy. Vampires were rumoured to be clean and quick, leave no trace of their being there. However the exposed bodies had been ravaged, their throats ripped open. It had to be humans work…. Didn’t it?

Jason shook his head vigorously and muttered under his breath, “Lord help me, and rid my mind of these sinful thoughts…” he smirked slightly to himself. I’m getting too good at this. I’m fooling myself now. All these people believe in me yet I don’t follow their beliefs. Well, if it gives me power and wealth then I have no reason to worry….

He laid down his pen and looked across his desk. At the various records strewn across it with papers here and there. All his work and research into these mythical beings.

And now people had even started saying residing near here was a demon race as well. Hah, of course there wasn’t.  There couldn’t be, vampires and demons were the things of nightmares. Not reality. They weren’t existent let alone wondering the streets for victims.

A dark chuckle echoed around the room as the chair scraped the floor and Jason stood. He looked to his window, his smile still there as he walked over to the sill. He peered outside to the cool evening, the tree branches stroking the window pane slightly with a gentle tapping. Jason released the air from his lungs again, this time in a sigh, but stopped suddenly when a figure caught his attention form the corner of his vision. He turned quickly back to the window where the moonlight shone.

But there was nothing.

The courtyard remained the same as it always had. No snap of a broken twig. No footprints impressed on the damp grass.

But there had been something… hadn’t there?

Jason raised an eyebrow sceptically at himself and turned again though he could feel his stomach starting to clench in fear. There were no crimes in this city, and if there were ever any then he took it upon himself to take care of it. Some hated him for it, as they knew what he truly did, but that didn’t matter to him. He got the money for protecting those who could afford it but it didn’t matter to him who they were. As long as they kept it a secret and he got what he felt like he deserved.

There was another noise. Not coming from outside or the window this time but his stairs. He was alone in the empty two story manor though the stairs were creaking. Footsteps. Someone coming closer. Getting closer to him.

He froze, his brown eyes transfixed on the door.

The handle turned slowly, the footsteps stopping completely.

“Who’s there!?” Jason demanded, his voice booming confidence in contrary to how he felt. He could feel his hands starting to quiver.

The door creaked open slowly. Just a crack as a voice crept through, “Someone who knows a lot about you, Mr Addler…”

It was a girl… how on earth could a girl have gotten in here? She didn’t sound very old and he certainly didn’t recognise the voice as being one of his servants. And they were all at home or residing in their rooms.

At last the door opened fully and in stepped the girl whom the voice belonged to. Jason had thought himself tall at being 6 ft1, though this girl seemed to tower even above him. He stuttered as she stepped inside and his body tensed completely when movement behind her caught his attention. Just behind her legs, bushing the carpet, dark as the girls expression, was a spaded tail.

“Wh-what kind of abomination are you!?” He spat, glaring at the newcomer. This was some kind of trick. It had to be, whatever was lying behind her was a costume of some kind. “This isn’t funny!”

She tilted her head slightly, revealing her eyes as the curls fell out of place. Her eyes were odd. Her left was blood red while her right was a deep shade of violet, matching that of her hair. “Oh no,” she commented, watching him quietly. “I wouldn’t say this was funny. Either. In fact, I would say this was quite serious.” The bells in her hair also tingled softly as she moved, making her seem more childlike as they were tied into her hair with black ribbon. It was then he also realised the bows weren’t tied to her hair. From the angle of her head he could see that she had tied them to white and black tipped horns which were protruding from her locks.

The girl raised an eyebrow as she watched his face contort with fear. “And what was that you called you me…? An abomination, am I?” She crossed her arms over her chest. “In what sense am I that, hm?” She practically purred.

Jason raised a shaking hand, managing slowly to mould it into a fist before pointing a finger to her, his arm seeming to jolt his entire body at this point. “Y-you have a-a tai-tail and h-horns!!” He yelled, his voice hoarse as he stuttered and tripped over his own words.

The girl nodded and raised her head again, making her seem taller than before even without having heeled boots. “I do.” She remarked. “Then again…” She opened her mouth slightly and smirked, white fangs peaking her lips. “I have these too, but they don’t make me an abomination… Not where I’m from…”

Jason shook his head slowly. This couldn’t be happening. It wasn’t real.

This was just a dream!

“You aren’t real!” He suddenly blurted, immediately regretting it and feeling the colour drain his face to match her pale skin.

The girl laughed. “Oh, believe me, I am. I might not seem it, but I am. My name, if you were wondering, is Rozalynne Everthorne. Though I don’t know if that’ll help make you believe I’m real or not…” She stepped forward.

Jason scrambled backwards desperately away from her, tripping over a chest before finding his feet again and pinning himself against the wall, beads of sweat trickling down his face. “No, no, no…”

Rozalynne cocked her head again, smiling ever so slightly. “No? If what I’ve heard is a lie then you have nothing to worry about…” She stepped closer again, her black boots sinking into the crimson carpet.

He looked to her questioning, his fingers skittering over the wall behind him as if searching for something. “What are you talking about…?” He muttered, trying to keep his vision clear of the liquid that threatened to trickle down his cheeks as tears.

“See now… Being part demon, I have exceptional hearing,” Rozalynne started softly before flashing her fangs fully in a smile. “Being part vampire too, means I have exceptional sight too. Basically, I’ve overheard the things you’ve done. And at night or even during a cloudy day when I can sneak out and look in you – I can see that those rumours… Are true.”

Jason jerked slightly as her words hit him in the chest like a dagger. He cast his eyes quickly to the corner before looking back to the girl facing him, her hand on her hip and her body titled slightly to the side. He closed his eyes momentarily and cursed himself. He’d needed to see if there was anything close to hand. There was only his Bible but it was out of reach. And he needed to rid this monster of his room.

When he opened his eyes again the demon had made no move.

She was still stood there. He licked his dry lips slowly, feeling the cracks and crevices that had formed. He didn’t need to look in the mirror to guess that were as pale as his hands. “Wh-what exactly… A-are you then…?”

Rozalynne smirked and arched an eyebrow slightly, leaning forward slightly in a way that seemed to pull her shirt across her breasts and cause her skirt to rise. He couldn’t help but let off a small gasp. He’d heard about the vampires being seductive, sexy and beautiful but he had never imagined them. Well, why would he if he didn’t believe in them?

She looked young and he couldn’t deny that she was attractive. Frightful, but a beauty. Her skin was snow white and her eyes glistening in the dim moonlight streaming through the open window. He couldn’t stop his own eyes from slowly moving down to the hemline of her skirt where he could see the curves of her legs and her-

He bit down on his tongue quick and hard. He couldn’t let himself succumb to her. Her entire posture was screaming at him, tugging at his desires. This was their power. Distract before they advanced and killed their pray. He was never going to let this wench do that. He wasn’t going to be this beast’s prey, even if it wasn’t a dream.

She smiled innocently and straightened herself again. “Me? Well, there is always some debate… Though I prefer the time mixed race, or mixed blood. My mother was a pure blood demon whereas my father was a pure blood vampire. And both races… Need blood…” She hissed slowly and drew back her lips, revealing her fangs, seeming to elongate as she approached.

Fear stuck him again, turning his insides to ice though his heart continued to pound, deafening him. He couldn’t talk. He couldn’t breathe.

He managed to lunge to his side as she leapt, his hand collided with the bedside table causing the unlit candle to cascade to the floor along with the wooden cabinet. There was a spilt second as the beast turned furiously to him, tugging her skirt over her legs to the top of her stocking but he had grabbed the Bible beside him.

“This is just a trick!” Jason screamed as he threw the book at her, hoping it would hit its target. It flew through the air, his heartbeat lightening slightly as the book seemed to be flying straight for her face and she wasn’t moving-

But then it stopped suddenly.

Jason tried to take a breath but his throat has closed as he saw the long, sharp nails digging into the spine of the book. Rozalynne moved the book slowly down, revealing her face. It filled with anger and her eyes flashed with fury as she snarled like an animal. The ‘vicar’ tried to scream again in desperation Rozalynne sprang, her movement just a blur as her arms reached for him and wrapped tightly around his chest. Jason continued to scream but the monster was holding a hand over his mouth while keeping his head turned to the side. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t call for help as her nails were burying into the soft flesh of his cheek, threatening to break the skin.

And then there was new pain. Nothing like he had felt before. Her dagger like fangs had pierced his neck, plunging deep into the muscle and veins, he could feel trickles of blood escaping from her lips.

As Jason gasped, his eyes rolling back he could hear Rozalynne moaning in pleasure, her tongue running over the wound made in his neck as the blood pumped out. She was sucking him dry, draining his blood from his heart. He could feel it leaving. He was getting more and more lightheaded as his head lolled back and his body slumped slowly. His hands fell to his sides as he lost the fight completely, he didn’t have the energy. He didn’t have anything.

He could feel Rozalynne moving beside him, loosening her grip as she ran her fingers down his arm, over the material. Jason could tell she wasn’t going to stop now. Even if she did stop there was no returning to life. He was slipping away. He didn’t feel the pain anymore, his body didn’t feel heavy either. But he knew he was dying… He felt light, his limbs seeming to float on the air. His breaths were short and shallow, brushing the mixed blood’s hair. He could see a few strands quivering under the exhalation.
Then pictures were flickering through his mind. He couldn’t tell if it was her that was putting them there but his eyes searched them slowly, blurry and unfocused. But they slowly cleared as Rozalynne withdrew her fangs, drops of blood slipping slowly from them.

“Jason Addler…” She whispered, licking her teeth. “I know what you did. And that is all that you deserve…”

And as his eyes finally closed, never to open again, he understood what she had said. She had discovered his unforgiveable crimes.

As a bright light seem to envelop him, he sent up a silent prayer though he doubted he would be heard or listened to. He could feel already the gates of hell preparing to open for his arrival.

Father… Forgive me… For I have… I have… sinned…

With a sigh Rozalynne sat back away from the corpse, wiping the last droplets of crimson with her fingertip before sticking it into her mouth just as another figure appeared in the doorway.

The newcomer was blacked out in the shadows, taller and broader than Rozalynne, much more masculine even by his silhouette. There was a demon tail swinging behind him and black wings shrouded his shoulders, making them look larger. The figure lifted his chin, the moonlight cutting through the shadows as the clouds parted, revealing an equally pale complexion and white and black horns matching hers, only a good inch or two longer.

Black hair spiked up to an angle glistened as the demon stepped fully into the moonlight, his torn jacket casting small shapes onto the carpet. “Can I ask you something?” Danté said, cocking his head to Rozalynne as he leant down and held out his hand.

She looked to him and put her palm into his while wrapping her fingers around his hand. “What?” She replied as he helped pull her carefully to her feet.

Danté looked back between her and the dead figure lying on the ground. “How exactly do you keep your victims so neat and clean?”

Rozalynne smiled slightly and shook her head. “Seriously?” He looked to her blankly. “I’m careful, I don’t like to be wasteful.” She answered turning to walk past him.

Danté grabbed her wrist and spun her back to face him. She looked to him questioningly, annoyance crossing her features. He simply smiled and wiped a sliver of blood from the corner of her lip and held up his finger to her. “You missed a bit, Miss Everthorne.”

I enjoyed this random extra! lol
I don't feel bad for Jason. He deserved it. Even without what he's done, his personality in itself was unbearable.
LOL I loved Danté at the end, he's so adorable.

I have a really random stupid question. Is Rozalynne actually very tall, or did she just seem tall to Jason because he was afraid?

Lol that's good then ^-^
Hahahahahha well, as long as you hated him then my job was done xD I didn't know how people would react to him in such a short term xD
LOL adorable wouldn't have been the word I would have used but thank you!

She's actually very tall. Where's vampires are typically around 6ft demons are generally 7. So Rozalynne being both, she stands at about 6 and a half foot so yes; she's actually very tall though Jason being scared probably would have made him see her as taller XD
