Description
Allison is the child of Russian immigrants, a product of a celebration of the many hedonistic pleasures America's freedom had to offer at the end of the 1960s. Unfortunately, Allison's parents decided she was a burden on that freedom and put her up for adoption shortly after her birth. She grew up in a foster home among several other children in similar circumstances. As one of many and more shy than her foster-siblings, Allison endured more than her share of neglect and, as she grew older, physical abuse.
In her mid-teens, after several failed attempts, she finally managed to flee foster care and took to the streets of San Francisco. She survived on theft and the occasional drug deal and moved in and out of gangs as she drifted across the United States. As one might expect, this lifestyle took its toll on Allison and by her early twenties she spent her days intoxicated and her nights breaking into cars and stores or picking pockets. When her wanderings brought her to Madison, Wisconsin she caught the attention of a Malkavian named Will and his ghouls prowling the streets. Allison's mental condition continued to deteriorate until one night when she attempted suicide. It was this night that Will chose to Embrace her.
Allison willingly accepted Will’s Embrace, turning her back on the mortal realm just as it had turned its back on her. Her sire taught her the basics of unlife as a Kindred. It was during her first wintry nights that they discovered her derangement, a compulsion to steal anything unwatched by whomever left it behind. At first, this led to an awful collection of junk and trash piling up in Allison’s corner of her sire’s domain. He taught her to fight and even harness her compulsion, but a Malkavian’s curse can only be resisted so much. The collection of random mortal artifacts continued, but at least Allison sought to give them purpose.
After fifteen years under his watchful eye, Will decided it was time to send his childe out into the night. He gave Allison the barest of instructions, “Go to New York City and aid your fellow Kindred there.” Though she was sent away, Allison did not feel cast out this time. Whether through blood or the mysterious connection Malkavians seem to share, she felt as though her sire’s will guided her onward.
Allison chose to stowaway aboard the trailer of a semi-truck she decided was headed eastward. She found a shadowy nook among the cargo crates near the front of the trailer and tucked herself in, well hidden by the Obfuscate Discipline. She was surprised, and even delighted, when the apparent owners of the vehicle loaded several handcuffed young women into the trailer and stuffed them into a small compartment behind a false wall in the trailer.
It was easy enough for Allison to convince the half-starved and delirious women she was a hallucination resulting from the drugs their captors had forced upon them. Their blood sustained her through the long drive eastward to Staten Island. Upon their arrival, the truck’s owners were surprised to find Allison waiting for them in the trailer along with their captives. The vampire made short work of the two men and freed the women. Two chose to flee into the night with Allison, but the third went her own way.
They fled into a nearby neighborhood, wandering all but aimlessly, until Allison chose one of the many homes they passed and knocked. The owner, a middle-aged man Allison later learned was named Mark, took pity on the women and invited them into his home. The vampire convinced her new ally to let them sleep in the basement where there weren’t any windows. The next night, she promised to return with some basics and a reward for Mark’s kind deeds and set off into the shadows.
