Cthulhu *is* a priest, after all, so a meditative posture is perfectly sensible.

And I totally misremembered where I read that Cthulhu was a priest. Thought it was in the passage of the Necronomicon quoted in "The Dunwich Horror" but actually it's a throwaway mention in "The Call of Cthulhu". But it's only in "The Dunwich Horror" where we get the sense that Cthulhu is only a lesser or subservient being to powers even greater than he, powers that "he can spy only dimly" himself.

No, I meant I forgot that he would totally be like more 'spiritual'. And speaking of his priesthood, I've always found that idea terribly fascinating with all its implications.Β

Okay, that then ^^ I like how you did the proportions, especially the hands and feet. They are so tinyΒ Β

I can't really say anythign else besides "i really like this"... well, I could but it would be a long spiel about contrasting Cthulhu's usual habbit of crazy-making with the serene calm of meditation.
In short, I like the art and I like the thoughts of contrast.

Sothoth is time. Sothoth is space. Sothoth is life.

I think my most favorite quote from Buddha is "As rain breaks through an ill-thatched house, passion will break through an unreflecting mind."

And that's how Cthulhu started his deep slumber in the first place.

(Old comment is incredibly, inedibly old. Please forgive me)
I recall hearing about some story of extended meditaion. Bodhidharma, the bringer of Zen Buddhism to China and Japan, apparently spent nine years in his wall-staring meditation. He spent so long meditating, his arms and legs fell off.

Tbh, he deserves fanart, what with being one of the few useful gods in the Mythos...Β
