I wonder why jumper gents have such long fangs. They look like tusks, kind of reminds me of those skulls in the Elephant Graveyard in the Lion King almost. Great shot of this guy!

Yes. In some species sexual dimorphism is very distinct:

I've never found a male Salticus scenicus, we only have females here .
That's a beautiful shot and a cute little guy

You should look more carefuly. They are more common but are less sedentary than females. It is much easier to capture them on the meadow with entomological scoop.

Yes, they are common in the whole Europe and can be found in US. I meet them almost everyday.

I have information that S. scenicus is a holarctic species, but it is believed that it was transferred by humans from Europe to US. I don't know when, but their ability to survive long travels, without the food is amazing.
