You know when you just get an idea out of nowhere and you absolutely HAVE to do it? Well this was mine about 3 days ago. It happened when the 14 second VS screen theme song from blazblue came on and... yeah. It also satisfied my need to do something colourful after a couple dark pictures.

Redoing the background to that screen has to be the most tedious, time-consuming, meticulous thing I've done since making my DttH templates. I still skipped out on a bunch of little details but it came out really awesome in the end. Not all of it was redrawn though: the giant diamond in the middle is from a screen shot of the screen. Most of the parts I redrew were drawn directly off a reference picture so I really can't take credit for it.

Drawing Luke and Asch was so much fun and for all that I intended to try and shade them in the same style as the Blazblue art... I didn't bother and just went with my own style.

You have no idea how much doing this made me want a Blazblue style game with Tales of characters. lol - since I've got the screen part all done.. you may see a few more match ups.
