Description ~Chapter 11: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!~

Three weeks have passed since Spira had introduced to everyone Darkfire, who claimed to everyone that she was Lightfire, a victim of Cynder. Darkfire had fooled everyone...Well, almost everyone. Broc and Da-ku Enzeru were not fooled for a second.

Thanks to Da-ku Enzeru's interruption, Cynder did not gain any more haters. However, the hatred of those who already hated her had grown.

Today was the day that Aviarus was going to take the students to the eastern dragon temple in the city of Sinrah. As they arrived at the temple, they all saw that the temple had a completely different look to it. It had a more spiritual feel to it. I felt as if it wasn't really there physically. Everyone had to feel it themselves to be sure that it was really there.

Aviarus opened up the doors of the temple and led the students inside. The doors shut and the group was greeted by a flood of water that nearly engulfed the group. However, the tidal wave had frozen before they became engulfed in the water. The wave had not become ice. It was still in front of the group, still flowing. It just wasn't advancing.

There were only two in that group who were not startled by the sudden tidal wave. Aviarus, who knew what the tidal wave truly was. And Alec, who as easy to startle as a brick wall, "You're never going to surprise me with that," Aviarus said to the tidal wave, "You've been trying to use that same tactic for as long as we've been guardians here."

"Oh, you're no fun," A voice said. The voice was coming from the water. It was a gentle feminine voice. Then the water began to shrink. As it did, it took on the form of a dragoness. Then the water solidified. It was an ocean blue dragoness with a foamy white underbelly and wings. She had a dolphin-like fin rather than a tail blade. Her eyes were a sea green with cyan pupils. She had a crown of six golden tan horns. She also had frills on the side of her face that acted as gills underwater. She also had webbed paws.

"Everyone, this is the guardian of water, Latis," Aviarus said, introducing the dragoness, "And she loves to try to prank me. But she tries the same thing over and over. She's done it so much it's become older than the Chronicler."

"I must say that I'm impressed by the silver dragon here," Latis said, referring to Alec, "He was unfazed by my demonstration."

"There's no way you'll startle him," Spyro said, "You'd have a better chance startling a brick wall."

"Or managing to get Sparx to be quiet," Cynder added, receiving a scowl from the said dragonfly.

"Or to get Cynder and Sparx not to get on each other's nerves," Spyro added.

Latis looked at Spyro and smiled warmly, "And you are Spyro, are you not?" she asked.

"You've heard of me?" Spyro asked.

"Every guardian knows of how you defeated Malefor," Aviarus said, "Soon everyone in the dragon realms will know of the legend of Spyro."

"Will I ever be known as a normal dragon?" Spyro asked himself.

"I think it would be appropriate to introduce the other guardians," Latis said, "Follow me."

Everyone followed Latis and Aviarus into the guardian's chamber where two other guardians where waiting. One of them was pure white dragon with feathered wings. His horns, underbelly, claw, and spade-like tail blade were silver. He had sky blue eyes.

The second one was a jet black dragon with blood red eyes. His horns resembled Cyril's, but black, chipped away, and cracked. He didn't appear to have the most pleasant of personalities, which he didn't.

"This is Levis, the guardian of light," Latis said, "For the most part, he's a pleasure to be around."

"And this is his complete opposite, Nightshade, the guardian of darkness," Aviarus said, "He usually keeps to himself. I'd suggest not to approach him. He doesn't like being disturbed. If he wants to talk to you, he'll come to you."

The black dragon, Nightshade looked over the students. There were three specifically that got his attention. They were Alec, Cynder, and Demeter. He glared at Demeter with a disapproving glare.

"Karma?" A voice said from the doorway. Karma turned around to see a good friend of her's. It was a gray dragoness with creamy white wings and underbelly. Her horns were white and spread out diagonally from each other. She had a silver fan-like tail blade.

"Flutter!" Karma commented as she ran over to the said dragon. They gave each other a friendly hug, "How have you been all this time?"

"I've been good," Flutter said, "I've been staying here for the last few months."

Then, three others came into the room. One was a deep blue dragoness with crimson wings, underbelly, and horns. Her eyes were a sparkling green. She was smaller than average for her age. In a bag she was carrying, there was a bottle of water. On her shoulder was a gray and fluffy duck hawk. She had striking blue eyes and was very cute.

The third was a female cheetah. She had golden yellow eyes and wore a cape to match. Her cloths were navy blue and were quite revealing.

"Who are they?" Karma asked Flutter.

"The dragoness is Fear. But everyone calls her Mockingbird," Flutter said, pointing to the blue and red dragoness, "She's a fear dragon that also can use water abilities."

"Why do they call her Mockingbird?" Karma asked.

"Because of my talent," Fear said. Then she spoke in Karma's voice, "I can mimic anyone's voice, or any sound."

"The duck hawk on her shoulder is her best friend, Spirit," Flutter said, "They been BFFs for almost ten years. The cheetah here is Spectra. Her past is a bit shady considering that she had amnesia when she came here. But she's friendly."

After the introductions where taken care of, everyone was shown their rooms. Later, after everyone has settled in, the guardians of that temple were preparing for the celebration.

The next day, everyone woke up to the sound of bells chiming. They all went to the dining hall to have breakfast. Well, most of then that is. Cynder had been skipping meals for the past couple of weeks. She was constantly afraid that those who hated her would continue to torment her.

However, Alec wouldn't allow her to be alone. He always stayed with her during these rough times. He would stay with her and bring her food.

In the dining hall, Spectra has been eying a certain blue caped cheetah, Kuval, as he ate. Apparently, he had caught her attention. In fact, she hadn't even touched her breakfast.

After breakfast, Latis took Spyro and Spira on a walk in the garden to get to know them better. She was curious about the purple dragons' stories. Spyro told her about how he thought he was a dragonfly until he was almost eight. Then he told her about the adventures he had. How he saved Cynder from convexity, how he went after her and saved her from Gaul, and how they were tied together by Malefor's magic and were able to defeat him together. That included when she was corrupted by Malefor once again and how she broke free, and even the death of Ignitus, which brought tears to his eyes.

Then Spira told his story. How he was raised in a wolf tribe by Kore. He told how he was much more experienced with his elements than Spyro. He also believed that it should've been him to be the one to save the world from Malefor's forces.

As Latis was talking with Spyro and Spira, Aviarus was gathering everyone else to prepare for the celebration. Almost nobody knew what the celebration was for.

Cynder was a little apprehensive to join in. She was just sitting in a corner, watching as everyone else did all the work, "Why are you just sitting here all alone?" Nightshade, the shadow guardian asked as he walked by Cynder.

"Well, no-nobody likes me," Cynder answered nervously, "I don't think I can take anyone criticizing me about my past."

"You know Cynder, your past is not your fault," The shadow guardian said, "That mark on your forehead is not just a birthmark."

"It's known as the Shado-Jubaku," Alec said as he walked over to the two.

"The Shado-Jubaku?" Cynder repeated.

"The term is actually an ancient draconic language," Alec said, "It translates into Shadow Curse."

"It is a bloodline curse," Nightshade continued, "It has brought misfortune to everyone in your bloodline. It attracts bad luck."

"Was that supposed to make me feel better?" Cynder asked.

"It was only supposed to let you know that it's not your fault," Nightshade said, "Whether it makes you feel better is up to you." Nightshade then walked away.

"Alec, what is this celebration for anyway?" Cynder asked. Alec then took her aside to tell her.

Latis led Spyro and Spira to where they were having the celebration. But there was nobody there, "Where is everyone?" Spyro asked.

As if on cue, everyone jumped out of their hiding places, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone shouted.

Spyro was definitely surprised. He had completely forgotten about his birthday. Perhaps all of the missions the guardians sent him on made him forget about his personal life. Then he saw two dragonflies that he couldn't be happier to see, "MOM! DAD!" Spyro shouted as he ran to Flash and Nina, his foster parents.

"Happy birthday, honey," Nina said as he hugged Spyro's snout.

"And happy birthday to you too, Sparx," Flash said.
