Hi, I'm working on a shark character myself and I'm really stuck on making his snout look like a real shark's snout. I wish I could combine Ripster's shark head with a humanoid body, which is what you do with the version of Ripster on the left.
Can I ask this question? Did you add the tails due to personal choice or did Ripster and the other Street Sharks grow tails at some point of the show? I noticed that the tail is really thick, but it does fit nicely on him.
Your skill with colorization is terrific! I wish I could make lighter and shades on my characters, but man, you steal the show! I'm learning to color professionally, so could you give me a few tips as to what regions in the body need lighter shades and which ones need darker shades?

Question. Is the seperate Ripster still like John? Or is he more wild, and untamable?

Another rough sketch to get the idea,
to separate the human side and maintain a much more humanoid shark but with a tail, I can't help it without or short tail make me feel something missing and I do like buffing them up, these male characters..
I still regret the color for John but limited colors and later I'm working on a reindeer picture I feel like doing for someone,
then back to the rest of the Street Sharks for next week...
