O_o; did she fall off the carousel? ;_;
I like it btw!! I love the details and those glove-balloons! My dad used to make those for me when I was little in the hospital...and they used to freak me out, haha. So seeing this reminded me of my childhood..in a bizarre sort of way. Great work again!

Spectacular. Please keep up with work like this-- larger scale, with the technicalities. It's beautiful.

x33 Lol, that's completely awesome. Something to look foward to when going to the fair~
Her hairstyle is so cool. Its like, like, a mixture of a bob and school-girl style braids.

Your work makes me sad that I'm too old to be Lolita, full stop.
But about this,
It's completely gorgeous.

Rather than comment on how cool it is (it is), or how well done and evocative it ist (it is)...
I'm just going laugh like an idiot because it looks like she went to Glove World from that one Sponge Bob episode. Forgive me.

Ohhh this is gorgeous!
I myself am a big fan of Trevor Brown's work. However, while inspired by him, you are keeping to your unique style with this picture. I love the balloons in the corner there. They remind me of when I was in the hospital and I would do that to any of the random gloves that were laying about. I had nothing better to do at the time. xD;
For some reason, while I would love to see this colored, I am liking it quite alot with the lovely blue lines. They are very expressive.
Wonderful, wonderful. <3

While I don't doubt that it would look better scanned, I still like it. The camera's flash gave it a different sort of light that, to me, feels a little darker. In any case, I love the detail. Her hair has an almost real feeling to it, and the folds and wrinkles are to die for. I like how the gloves were turned into balloons, and the creases in them are fantastic. The cast, braces and bruises all look superb~
Most of all, I like the black eye, I've never actually seen one that was more than someone coloring the outside of the eye slightly dark, where as this actually has swelling that isn't overexagerated~♥
In any case, wonderful work!

This is amazing. I'm serious.
It looks so professional and even borders on realism. I could never do that bruising or bleeding effect.
Sooo pretty.

lovely picture, very well rounded, and shows good perspecitive, also remarkably detailed.
and, i think painting this will kill some of its macabre vibe, in my opinion.
though, go with whatever you feel is right.

wow thank you.
it doesnt matter either way cause i dont have paints and the paper is to thin to support even a marker drawing.
you might be right though, i didnt even think about that.
ill keep that considered in the case i ever obtain paints

ooh, what about gouache or acrylics? i'm pretty sure you can do beautiful arts with those, like this one ;D

DarkDevi In reply to AnKouGiRl [2007-08-22 17:05:22 +0000 UTC]
maybe ill try those too, im not to smart with paints XD i just need something thick and smooth i can use a brush with.

AnKouGiRl In reply to DarkDevi [2007-08-22 17:23:33 +0000 UTC]
thick and smooth huh?... maybe the gouache <3!
hahaha i used oils once and it was terrible >_<... acrylics are quite similar but cheaper and dries quickly!

is gouache really expensive.. ive never heard about that.
what was so bad about oils (curious cause i dont know about paint)
Maybe ill get acrylics.. are they hard to blend?

It's a really beautiful picture as always.
Seeing it in oils would be spectacular and I hope that somehow you get some and we can all see how great your art is when it's full circle :]

Water color is very forgiving and I'm no good with paint D:

im really crappy with water colours ;_; i dont get them, theyre so delicate and ... watery lol.
Im much better with things i can touch with my hands, thick paint xD
The only real paint picture i painted on canvas was in school.. and i finger painted a lot of it. I like the way it feels on my fingers lol!
water colour doesnt have that. *baby*

The first thing i thought when i saw this in thumb was trevor brown XD. I really like the shading though, and the bruises look very good. And i like that the quality of the picture is kind of dark and grainy. Even if thats not part o the picture it really adds to the mood.

yea i really wanted to try some more deliberately trevor brown like stuff. its so much fun i love drawing the bruises and stuff around the eyes.
good to know my shitty camera actual contributes and doesnt make it hard to look at

i think this is just fine in pencil. it would look so nice in a black frame up on a wall. i would totally do that with it. for some reason I really like how the balloons are shaded, this is really impressive!
