Description One of my most recent photos during my trip to Netherlands International Space Station, to see my friends and my BFF

The background is of a water-fountain Nebula.

Taken with my old Canon 1000D and the EF-S 75-300mm telephoto lens. Sadly, the camera is dying, so I'm expecting it to stop working soon enough :/ . The contacts are becoming unresponsive from camera to lens, with things not working properly like exposure settings and auto/manual focus settings. And sometimes the camera hangs on saving a photo, so I lose some shots. The camera is pretty old though, has served me many years. Too bad I have absolutely no funds to replace it when it's gone, so I'll just have to stop making art for an unknown amount of time when that happens.

edit: Sta.sh apparently tried to ignore the name I gave this piece. Dammit.

I am not a photographer except in the most amateur way but this pic speaks to me as an artist. I love the high contrast design aspect of this. You have some other works that have some kind of hard to explain effect that makes me want to go draw. I saw a flower picture of yours thst hit mrelike it was a painting. It was stunning how it was framed, how the light was a key element bringing it to a different level of excecution. As an artist I go for yhat level andbrven if I dont make it yhe struggle id important. Your pics Cool work, thanks for the fave.

This has OK vision, unbelievable originality, very good technique and excellent impact. Why? The vision is mostly black and cyan, you have 100% untaken ideas or photos from other users and the technique on this picture is good, it is mainly beautiful background with a forbidden bike in the amazing night sky and the impact of creating this is amazing, this has definitely been aimed for good entertainment by others. This guy makes good pictures that may inspire the creative. So far... The results are great according to me.You should make more darkdex52! Why don't you? You are going great with your pictures so far! Bye and great photo!

This composition is really, really great.
-The blue tones used in this composition are really cool. I like the color itself, yet I'm not sold 100% on the comp's monochrome-ish aspect (not that I don't like it, tho).
-The way the bike and the tree contrast with the "space" background is really cool, too. Loved that aspect.
-I like the space nebula effect caused by the waterfall in the background, it's really, really clever and makes it look a bit like an actual space background.
Like I said, the composition is really great. Other than the monochromatic approach, this is quite perfect.
Not my best critique, but hey I'm trying my best. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Not a lot of people realize it's a waterfall in the background and presume it's Photoshopped in there xD.

Thanks for the cool critique!

The glowing part of the picture instantly grabs you attention, whilst bringing your attention to the bike, which masterfully blocks it, hence the name. The stunning image is slightly degraded by the camera's viewpoint being slightly too low - a bit of the trees leaves would've improved it even more. It grabs your attention and holds it for quite a long time, and the tiny plants on the right side of the picture look incredibly in the mystifying theme of the picture. The bike is slightly old-fashioned , but this picture certainly isn't. A really great and impressive piece of art. Just breathtaking.

Composition wise this is really great; counterbalanced lines bring you back and forth across the picture, fallowed by a nice solid foreground to help your eye relax to the explosion of space behind the bike and brush. the background is whimsical and imaginative, and has a certain mystery to it that keeps drawing my eye.
personally this piece digs up a lot of memories and feelings and that's exactly what art is meant to do.

Honestly this screams adventure to me. and this would be something i would put up on my wall to do inspire me to do just that.
This piece is beyond rad.

Strangely enough, this was captured with a dying camera, the way the imagination plays with that vision makes that image maybe more unique than if everything was of the latest and top notch quality.

The impression to that ride bike to the other part of the universe gives very deep feelings.

I do hope images made by that artist from that same camera ends up in the print section and gets enough to buy him a new camera ... Without leaving that one forgotten as long as it works a wee bit!

Because, somehow, what could had been considerate as a BIG unfair handicap to a good photograph had been turned into a challenge that unseeingly to the common eye is almost surrealistic. One of the things almost impossible to do for mere photographs!

This artwork is amazing and I feel sorry for your camera. Your attention to detail is immaculate and the way the light is all gathered in on point is fantastic. The way the bike, the trees and plants are shades is also very effective. It's not very original, but it's still one of the best of these I've seen. It definitely makes me think of space, with the stars and the patch of light. How it makes me think of it, I don't know. It just makes me think of UFO's and creation and destruction. It's so good. Why can't I be like that?

I meant to critique this a few days ago but I got caught up in my own work. First off I would like to say that this photo is breath-taking. The extreme contrast between the deep blues and the almost green-ish white leaves quite an impact on the viewer. The whole space nebula isn't the most original idea in the world, but you have seemed to make it your own. I only wish that you could see a little more detail in the things like the bike spokes and some of the plants to the right of the piece. I know very little about Photoshop so I don't feel like my rating on technique should matter so much but it's well put together and looks like it belongs which is all that matters. Keep up the good work, and I hope your camera can live a little while longer so you can continue to make such impressive pieces as this.

Thanks for the critique. Also, I felt like saying that this is not a photomanipulation, in case it wasn't clear. Just a single photo .

Oops, my mistake. I was confused by the caption you included with the everyday words crossed out and replacing them with space terms. It's still a beautiful piece none the less!

(excuse the strange name)

The colors in this photo work really well making the image seem calm and exciting at the same time. I'm going to be harsh on originality a little because I've seen images before that seem similar in appearance. The technique was great, the fact that you were able to see and then capture this moment alone is extraordinary, i could never have done something like this, but also that you were able to line up the shot perfectly in order to balance the image, blows my mind. The overall impact was, well, very strong, and I'm hoping to see more amazing photographs.

The monochromatic blue dusted by the stars above and the sea below lends the mind to figure the cyclist may have wandered into the Twilight Zone. The light to the left of the tree adds another touch to your expertise. Most would cut it off in the black tree and lose that enthralling effect.
The trees to the right are a good counterbalance to the forward presence of the bike. The chain still wrapped around the seat post (if that is what it is) give the message it was a momentary pause and then gone. The center focus of the brightest point in the sky mastered the balance.

I kinda think the black tree to the left shows a contrast to the background.
and it give the bike it''s elegant stature.
But an opinion is an opinion.

sounds good to me.  Many beginners  think of blocking when shooting and so cut right into the tree and lose that effect.

Very beautiful and, also, very close to the type of nighttime photo I would like to take...That is when I can find a good camera that allows for photos like this.

The kind I have been trying to capture, is when the sky, here in the USA is a bottle green color that seems backlit, with a dull light. The trees and other structures are nothing more that mere black silhouettes against the bottle green.
