I think you're out of your mind. Men treat women FAR better than we treat ourselves! Then we treat children! There's a 15 year old boy paying child support right now to his 32 year old rapist; who got out on good behavior after two years! With full custody of the product of her rape, that boy's daughter: he has to start paying HER child support, his rapist, when he turns 18! Because she has custody of a child; after she proved so trustworthy with children. That's in the chicago tribune, look it up; and it happened this century, not the last one. There's a majority of men in the senate and congress and yet boys are flunking elementary school, junior high, high school and college far more than women. I respect your opinion but I believe that is not all there is. There are better coverage for women's rights but it's going into deaf ears. Also you mentioned rape. The majority of rape victims are women and usually by someone they know. When it comes to domestic violence, sure some women are not right, but there are many who keep silent about what is done to them(some men too). When you mentioned boys flunking out of schools, that's up their parents to guide them to finish school. They can force their boys to go to school but you can't force them to stay. When it comes to men being suicidal or depressed, crimes, or jail, that has nothing to do with equality I'm talking about. I'm talking about pay and respect. The few things women out pay the men is through modeling and the sex industry.
Nowadays on the media or on t.v you'd see women on top but that is not the case everywhere. I'm not saying that men are bad. I'm just saying we don't have equal footing on certain aspects. Plus we can't actually have equal footing because of biology (height, strength) but I mean accommodations to make it fair. No. Women are not the majority of rape victims. You're mistaken. The majority of rape happens in prisons; that is a well-documented fact: where men, in the US, are over 90% of the population. The domestic violence rate for chronic reciprocal abuse is, as I said, "roughly" 46/54. I don't remember the exact number, but it's close to 50/50. Women, in those situations, are somewhat, not broadly, more likely to be abused in those cases; but only 20% of the couples surveyed were abusive period: so, domestic violence, while awful, is not a cultural epidemic in Western society.
The BJS stats were concerning the rape culture against boys in juvenile hall: where female staff, a fraction of the population, are the majority of molesters and rapists; with boys being the majority of the victims. I haven't extensively researched the ratio of female guards versus rapes per capita in adult penitentiaries, but as I understand it (hearing this second hand, mind you) they're responsible for something like 30% of the rapes; even as a fraction of the population.

Hey, sorry it’s been a while. I had to focus more on my college work but I wanted to finally give this rebuttal. Plus the argument I’ve debated with you is based on individuals that have been identified by their sex since birth, not those who may have complications, T.Q.I.A.(Transgender, Queer, intersex, Asexual) or those who self-identify themselves another sex (sorry Caitlin! There are 12,967 women incarcerated and 180,424 men are incarcerated. “Though many more men are incarcerated than women the number of women incarcerated has outspaced men more than 50% between 1980-2014” This as in rising trend not amount incarcerated. Rapes
1 in 6 women have been raped or experienced attempted rape. 90% of adult rapes are women. Women ages from 18 to 24 who are in college are 3 times more likely than women not enrolled who are 4 times more likely.
Rapes could happen to men too. 1 in 10 rape victims are male. So I’m saying it couldn’t happen to men it just occurs more frequently towards women. After these attacks, we victimize the victim asking questions that focused mainly on the victim and not the perpetrator.

I’ve watched Two documentaries called Tough Guise and Tough Guise 2 by jackson Katz, 3 years prior to my women’s history class and this debate, discussing domestic violence in the home, why men are incarcerated, why men wear a mask to disguise and blend in society and gender roles. Men perpetrate 90% of the violence in society, and society (in media especially) tends to focus on the subordinated groups, not the dominant ones. Katz says “it will take a different kind of courage to break out of the role of tough guy posturing men are pressured into so that society can keep making progress. And, courage must be seen as the act of resisting taking on the tough-guy pose -- and change will be difficult because violent masculinity is a cultural norm in America and tied to social, political and institutional institutions”.
There are mild, subtle things, that show violence like sexualizing violence like you would see in scary movies or stalking an undressing woman like in “Something about Mary” movie. Something about men is a danger to both men and women. Not saying women aren’t immune but it’s predominantly a men’s issue. Conclusion
Men and women are created differently. That they are meant to compliment each other. Not for one to dominate each other. For example, women can bare and have children while men cannot, and men tend to be physically stronger due to differences in muscle masses www.dobsonlibrary.com/resource… . By nature I don’t feel they can be equal because we are not exactly the same but educating children when they are young about accepting the differences between the sexes. Also I meant educating as in talking to kids on a personal level not educating as in the educational system in schools (though it wouldn’t hurt).

Sorry to jump in. Just wanted to add a fact about rape statistics that often gets overlooked. This isn't intended as a refutation of the points either of you have made, as personally i feel the truth lies somewhere in the middle And apologies but it means getting into definitions of non-consensual acts so please consider this a content warning...

Rape is defined under US law as forced penetration, ergo it is only classified as rape when the perpetrator is doing the penetrating, which immediately discounts the vast majority of woman on man and woman on woman sexual crimes by definition, which explains the 90%/10% gender ratio as most adult men are sexually assaulted by women and not other men.
In the Bureau of Justice statistics, there is a separate category called "forced to penetrate" which is where you will find the statistics for all the male victims of female perpetrators, and when those figures are added to the rape figures the gender discrepancy vanishes...
Which just goes to show it pays to look behind the statistics: if your legal system doesn't classify a woman forcing herself onto a man as rape there's bound to be a discrepancy.
We have a similar situation in the UK and some feminist groups (and men's activists) recently attemped to have female perpetration recognised as rape but failed to convince parliament. Another petition will likely be along at some point to try again. A rare hope-inspiring occasion of feminists and men's activists working together to support victims of sexual crimes...
