Description
This is without a doubt the larges painting I have ever done digitally. I was done from scratch in GIMP start to finish without any references and I am very proud of how it came out. It took me a record breaking (atleast for me) 40 layers to finish this thing and my computer was freezing and complaining the entire time. Started it a couple weeks back and did the sketching, lines, and horse color and white layers before stopping. Then I finished it all up tonight in about 4 more hours in which I put their markings in, made the background, applied shadows to the horses, colored their eyes and their eye lights. I am exhausted and very relieve that this monster is DONE!!
And each Nordanner in here gets 2 Kaaring for my trouble. Was thinking of animating it, but it was already a ton of work so I decided against it for now.
But I did decide on something. The next time i make one of these big paintings, I think I will do all the horses and the background separate then put them all together by layering them and just positioning them the way I want after.
BLAH! Hard work but worth it. XD
