What does this have to do with a "CD"?

Sonic CD was made for the SEGA CD-basically, the game ran on a disc/CD. And that's why it's called Sonic CD. A damn good game too-some consider the very best of the Sonic series. Easily one of mine, just behind good ol' Adventure 2.

Are you it is a game not a CD.

It was a game, yes. But it ran on a CD, like most games today. At the time, this was a big deal, it meant more memory to make better games, and higher quality soundtracks. And because of it being a big deal, many SEGA CD games were called (Insert Game Title Here) CD. Think of it like the Nintendo 64. (Mario 64, Pilotwings 64, Mario Kart 64 etc.)

Then that means it is a really old system.
I don't know what a Nintendo 64 is.

To be brutally honest, it WAS on Sonic Gems Collection, and a re-release is coming out soon for iPod, PS3, Xbox, etc.
