It's great to see trees that are really shaped like trees, with little dead branches and everything. I like the misty look of the forest floor.

Thanks. People don't seem to realize that when Fir trees or pine trees grow taller that their branches underneath tend to stop growing needles and what not. No sunlight means no need to waste energy.

Haha, yeah. I'm an arborist and every so often I get someone saying, "What's wrong with my tree? All the bottom branches are dying!" And sometimes they're not quite convinced with the explanation.
